But it was overturned on appeal. Judges HATE to be overturned on appeal so I don't see it becoming a problem.

Do you honestly believe that predominantely Christian country would allow the Muslim Brotherhood to overthrow our culture? You are missing the point. The 1st Amendment regulates the government from interfering in religious practice. However, the rights of the individuals in the religion will still be protected by the Constitution. So any stoning to death, mutilation, etc. will still be a crime.

Actually the opposite is true. With the appellate court decision, there is now precedent that American law over rules a Sharia defense which will make it even harder for a lower level judge to rule in favor of a defendant claiming Sharia. If the appellate court had sided with the lower judge, we would have cause for concern.

As I see it, the courts decision was to ensure Muslim employees' ability to practice their religion during the day. I'm not up on Islam, so I don't know how many times a day that they must face Mecca and pray. However, I'm certain that it happens during the work day. Additionally, there is fasting and what types of products they can and can not handle. It protects the reasonable accomodations that other religious practices receive.

You and I agree that any scenario in which Sharia law is used to govern civil court decisions or to erode rights otherwise held by citizens of this country is a terrible thing. My problem is with this particular law. The Oklahoma law as written will NEVER pass a Constitutional test as it specifically targets Islam and no other religion. Strict scrutiny is extremely difficult to overcome and for good reason. Other than enforcing the constitutional and legal protections we already have, what is the option?

That case was rejected on appeal. We always have judges to put their own interpretation on laws but fortunately we have ways to appeal those.

Well I would rather be taken over by them than forced to Islamic Law and beliefs. At least they are American.

CAIR and their allies dislike our Chritian heritage, our economic standing and our military might. They hate that we are a superpower and will try any method to destroy our economic, political and military power.

Isn't Sharia Law mainly a religious based moral code? If so, they would only pertain to Muslims if they chose it in their day to day life. How does Sharia Law affect any person who doesn't practice ferverent Islam? It has no bearing on my life.
