Hard to believe they will extend BP now.

I personally think (hope) he'll get traded.

John Hayman twitter....

hearing, madson deal is for 1 year. good deal for #reds. and gives madson chance to rack up saves for very good team.

Makes the Marshall trade look even better to me. That's going to be a nasty bullpen.

Bob Nightengale says it's worth atleast 10 Million. Huge overpay...

Well that eats pretty much all of their money. Looks like it will be Heisey in LF.

Just heard on ESPN that Phillie at one point was offering Madson 4 years, $40M, but then withdrew the offer to pursue Papelbon. That lends credibility to the $10M number. I have to believe they could have signed Cordero for much less. I like Madson but I take Cordero for $7M over Madson for $10M if it affects LF or BP.

A 1 year deal isn't going to change anything with BP.

I think it is a good deal as long as it is for only 1 year.

Agree. 1 yr 10 mil is a good deal. Where else would they put it? Reds really going for it in 12, as they should.

As a cardinal fan I wish they would not have done it. He was solid last year.

Love it! After hearing all the talk about the Reds are playing for the future for the last 14 years, they finally have stopped thinking about just the future and going for it right now!
