Example, I worked at a place and we had to charge our time to a DAN - Daily Activity Number. But people called it a DAN Number, which means they're really saying Daily Activity Number Number.

Thank God for the Internet so that I didn't have to ask somebody and look like a dummy. Still don't know what the acronym for a record company's A&R person means. I know what they do — promote the artist and act as a liaison between the artist and record company — but have no clue what the R stands for. Representation?

See, I've heard that "repertoire" part before, but it just never registered because it really doesn't make sense when you consider what the A&R person actually does.
