10th Region So Far

Featured Replies

10 is stretch. 7 to 8 realistically.

1-2. Montgomery, Clark

3-7 Brossart, Scott, Campbell, Harrison, Pendleton.

8 Mason

Seems about right.

Montgomery has Paris and Pendelton at home. Then Bourbon and GRC on the road. This will be over the next two weeks.

Sould be another great game between these two rivals and top teams in the 10th.

Tyler Black will be back but Harris won't. Black may be back as early as this week.

Black coming back will help the Royals.

I would say Mont Co/GRC/Brossart are the top 3. Brossart has a solid team and wouldn't surprise me if they won the 10th.

BB is going to be a solid team the next few years and could make a few trips to Rupp. I was really impressed with their Freshman team last year.

Saw them play last year. Very impressive. I've seen several kids names in the paper with varsity stats already.

Here is the pre-season rankings. I stated in that thread that we will need to revisit it ....so here you go. Interesting reading. Now your thoughts.

More often than not, you can use this pre-season ranking to know what the rankings during the season will not be. Just not very accurate ever, IMO...

I feel this is pretty accurate. Flip flop Montgomery & Brossart, and maybe Harrison & Scott a few spots up. Can't see how any of these teams could complain with their spot right now.

Only 1 person's opinion. HS hoops very hard to predict preseason.

I agree.I would think move Harrison and Scott up a slot and move Mason county down to 8th, and flip-flop Brossart and Montgomery and there's your 10th Region.

Montgomery Co has a win over GRC, don't you feel they should be #1?

I honestly feel like this is a rare occasion that a head-to-head matchup becomes void. That game was played at Montgomery County. I just feel like right now, GRC is playing better basketball.

Thanks for your input. Think we will know more when these two meet again on the 13th of Jan. Should be another barn burner. Both being in the 40th district, when/ if both advance to the regional tourney they will have to be in opposite brackets. It could happen that for another team to advance to Rupp, they would have to knock off both GRC and Montgomery Co.

It could also happen that they could face off in both the District and Regional Championship. Through the first month of the season, they've played the best basketball in the 10th.

Agree both are playing well and against strong competition.

Is the regional being held @ Montgomery this year? If so, I think that has to give the Indians an edge.
