Hopefully Pendleton can contain Region surprise Adam Fatkin. If not, it could be a long night.

That being said, I think they will, and I pick them to win by 4.

Really great points and I agree with you. I have wondered several times this year why Brossart didn't strengthen their schedule. Especially, if you thought you were going to have a good team. I think this may come back to haunt them in some tough games down the stretch.

High school basketball games are scheduled in two-year contracts. Last year with the King boys on their roster, Deming was quite formidable and a major challenge for the 2010-11 Mustangs. This year we were in the second year of the contract. Silver Grove and Calvary Christian are district seeding opponents which the KHSAA require to be played. Highlands, Holmes and St. Henry are NKAC Division II opponents.

When you factor in district seeding opponents, NKAC Division II opponents, a two-year commitment to play in the Lloyd Invitational Tournament, playing in the 10th Region All "A" tournament, and anticipating a possible trip to the "A" State tournament doesn't leave a lot of room for addditional independent 10th Region or 9th Region contests. Consider that each school has it's own schedule specific requirements, and it is sometimes tough to get teams to need to play on your schedule.

Expect to see a beefed up schedule for our Mustangs for the next couple of years.

Not a surprise to GRC fans who had seen him going against Zollo, Rogers and the others from the last couple of GRC teams. He would have starred on a lot of 10th region teams the last two years.

I agree. I remember watching him dominate JV games. To most of the 10th Region Fatkin and the Cardinals as a whole have been a surprise.

Where and at what time is this game?

Tuesday in the AIT, not sure of the time.

Not a suprise to me, knew we would be one of the top teams in the region this year and Adam one of the top players. Now a suprise to me has been Taylor Howard. He improves each game. Another suprise is Isreal, knew he was good, but he is ahead of where I thought he would be at the stage of the season, being only a Freshman.

GRC has established themseves at one of the top teams in the 10th. Only losses are to ranked teams in Madison Central by 7 and Montgomery Co by 2, both on the road. We hit our free throws in both of those games and you could have seen a different outcome.

Looking forward to the PC/GRC game. Should be a good one. The Monroe / Stenzel should be a good matchup.

Tuesday @ Ashland, 4:00 in the AIT.

Great article from the Ashland paper:

[h=3]Humphrey keeps GRC motoring[/h][h=4]Coach perfect in 2 trips to Ashland Invitational[/h]ASHLAND — Don’t mention rebuilding around Scott Humphrey. He’s not wired for that kind of talk.

Of all the high school basketball coaches in Kentucky this season, Humphrey probably had most reason to utter the “R” word. After winning 30 games last season and making a run to the Sweet 16 quarterfinals, George Rogers Clark said goodbye to four senior starters who combined for more then 5,000 career points. In all, the Cardinals graduated nine seniors.

When preseason rankings came out, coaches adjusted accordingly and rated GRC seventh in the 10th Region.

Less than a month into the new season, however, the Cardinals are playing like a team with a chance to return to Rupp Arena.

The AIT features several strong contenders, many of them off to fast starts this season.

Looking forward to this game to get a better feel for the 10th region. GRC has been playing well and will need to continue this to keep the momentum in the new year. GRC will again use all 4 qtrs to win this game by 5.

Nobody has established themselves as the favorite to win the 10th region.

I'll take Pendleton in this one.

I'll take Clark Co in this one.
