December 14, 201114 yr With all of the corruption in government, economy in shambles, congress not getting along, even for the sake of the U.S. due to personal agendas, our morality down the drain, illegal immigration running rampant, and our cultural values and Christian morals being destroyed. Should America be taken back and ran as the Christian country we should be. I am so sick of the idiot government officials and the corruption along with them and how we have to be so politically correct and how Christianity is being flushed down the drain because our leaders are too scared to stand up to atheist and unmoral people. When this happens count me in.
December 14, 201114 yr Are you talking about violent overthrow of the American Government? Count me out. Besides which christian view you going to teach? Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ, or another? They are all very different. Good luck with those F-16 bombers and the military choppers, I hear militia and terrorist struggle to bring them down with almost no success.

December 14, 201114 yr Maybe one of you historians know better than I....When was America ever a Christian country? Here I've always grown up believing we were a country founded by those that wanted freedom from religious persecution, and the freedom to practice whatever religion they believed in. Mtn Ref, let me ask you this: Do you feel everyone in America should be required to practice Christianity? Do you feel we should use the Bible as our main/sole precedent for laws, rules, and values?

I make fun of your posts and disagree with you a lot, but I'll give you this one, excellant post. And you might not care what I think of your posts and thats fair. And I was speaking about the Religions comment.

Mtn Ref, let me ask you this: Do you feel everyone in America should be required to practice Christianity? Do you feel we should use the Bible as our main/sole precedent for laws, rules, and values? If you don't mind, I'll offer my answer to your questions. "Do you feel everyone in America should be required to practice Christianity?" Absolutely not. It goes against one of the founding principles of this country - freedom of religion. "Do you feel we should use the Bible as our main/sole precedent for laws, rules, and values?" I think, in a way, historically, this question has been answered as a "Yes." This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. But, just because the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, etc. were based on those principles, do not make them expressly Christian documents, and therefore does not make ours an expressly "Christian nation." I really dislike it when I hear people say, "America is a Christian nation." I think it is a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles - a very important distinction, IMO.

I think as far as Christianity goes me and you aren't extremely far apart from what I can tell, now sports that's a whole different story. But if everyone was like me I'd be bored with these boards.
December 15, 201114 yr Author The POTUS called and helped an Arab spring based on same stuff going on here. Egyptians overthrew the government based on corruption, no jobs, bad economy, and the military did not stop that. No I don't feel Christianity has to be all that is allowed, but I do feel Christianity shouldn't be thrown to the dogs like it is being done either. How does a nativity set hurt anyone, why does a simple cross in a school cause someone not to be able to learn, how does saying a prayer really hurt anyone and cause them grief. Good law abiding Christians have stood by too long and let these things happen, I feel it is time for people to stand up to what is right. I could live with having an atheist president if he was tolerant and allowed people to be sensible as long as it didnt physically harm anyone. Like allowing a manger scene, I mean when is the last time a manger scene made an atheist change their view.
December 15, 201114 yr I kind of understand what you're saying. It has become sort of a situation where Christians have fewer rights in expressing their religious opinions than other religions do. But, there are "Christians" who overstep others rights as well IMO. But, I do think that Christians are restricted more from practicing their faith than other religions are in many situations. I do not feel that saying "Christmas Break", "Merry Christmas" or saying a prayer before a football game is hurting anyone. If there was enough public support for an Islamic prayer before or after the "Christian Prayer", I think people should be okay with that as well. But if there is not support, I do not think those people have a right to complain because I don't personally feel that prayer is forcing religion on anyone. To me it is no different than asking the Home fans to stand up and cheer.
December 15, 201114 yr I often thank God that I do not live the lives of some people who go through life complaining and constantly talking about "them."

December 15, 201114 yr As for a revolution, I think that would be the worst thing to happen in America. American law and customs are based on many Christian principles as well as Ancient Greek, Islamic, etc. To be honest if you know much about the founding fathers, many of them pushing religious things into American currency, buidlings etc. may have more to do with the Masons than their personal beliefs.
December 15, 201114 yr Examples? Okay, the sign Belfry had at the State Championship. I do not know if anything was done about that, but the fact that we on here had a discussion about it says alot IMO. Did that sign infringe upon anyone's right to choose their own religion? I just don't see it. I think it is a case of Christian views having been primarily the only views allowed in America for so long that now innocent things are looked at negatively.

Just post about Bama true facts and we can coexists. Don't try to dig up junk to hurt us. I don't know why I get on here, but usually an arguement isn't too far off with me.

You said other religions have more rights than Christianity. I'm looking for examples to support your belief.
