Do you believe dinosaurs were on Noah's Ark?

Featured Replies

Seven days, as in how we currently perceive a day?

Yes, because of the repetitive "and it was evening...and it was morning" used in Genesis.

What are "clean" animals and birds?

I'll pose the same question to you ad I did to HT. How literal do you take the two of every animal? I'll use the same elephant example.

A clean animal was one that chewed the cud and had split hoofs.

"According to its kind" is what's used in Scripture (pretty sure). Again, I'm not as studied on this as I should be, but I'm thinking the whole "species" think is a bit more generic and a lot less specific (like the African & Asiatic elephant example you gave). Probably just two elephants.

If we take the Creation Museum as the voice for the creationist beliefs then dinosaurs were indeed on the ark and also around when humans were.

There are tons of theories I don't know all of them but I remember a newspaper article talking about some when creation museum first opened and many objected to their interpretation.

450 feet long, 75 feet wide, 45 feet high.

So if I'm to believe that every animal was indeed included in pairs, I'm supposed to grasp that Noah somehow fit them all into a space roughly the size of 1.5 football fields long, just less than 2 football fields wide, and 45 feet high? Doesn't fly for me.

As I said, I've been taught that the Genesis stories were more stories of symbolism, than meant to be taken literal.

No. There weren't any dinosaurs on Noah's Ark. Period.

There are a lot of questions about all measurements in the old testament, most of them were used on scales that no one alive in the A.D. era of civilization has ever seen. So any exact measurement comparisons today are at best educated guesses.

From what I've read, the estimation is 16,000 animals. And it is believed that some space could be freed up if younger animals (therefore smaller in most cases) were taken over older ones.

I do know that geologists--Christian or non--agree that there are remains of marine life on mountain ranges all over the world. The Himalayas, for example, contain fossils of sea-living creatures.

How'd they get there?

I know this is a belief espoused in the Creation Museum and I think it's shared by some creationist. Just wondering if anyone here does.

I've been talking to friends and co-workers about the Hart County article and this came up.

You are kidding aren't you?

The museum does literally have dinosaurs walking on the ark, I about died laughing when my grandmother came back from it on a church trip with a pamphlet that had pictures of the t-rex marching on.

A Non believer started this thread, cool! We are making some head way.

Isn't a football field 53 1/3 yards wide? That would be the ark was less than half as wide as a football field.
