Do you believe dinosaurs were on Noah's Ark?

Featured Replies

I know this is a belief espoused in the Creation Museum and I think it's shared by some creationist. Just wondering if anyone here does.

I've been talking to friends and co-workers about the Hart County article and this came up.

I'm doubtful they were. I have my own theories on explaining dinosaurs, but it doesn't include them being on the ark.

Do you mind sharing? I'd be interested.

I always struggle with this question.

Wiped out by the flood from the arc, wiped out before the 7 days were over. I'm not really in to the whole 7 literal days as we perceive a day now theory. Possible Adam and Eve lived in the Garden for millions of year before expulsion, thus there would be no human remains until they were kicked out which was roughly 5,000 years ago give or take a few thousand years (I don't think records as far as time are all that accurate). Those are just a few thoughts I've had about the situation, but I don't put a ton of thought in to it, evolution, and the big bang, and dinosaurs don't really effect my faith all that much so a definite answer isn't that important to me.

How literal do you believe the "two of every animal" is?

^I was taught it was symbolism, and that it wasn't meant to be taken literally.

I'm not sure what I really believe with regards to the Creation Story or the whole Noah's Ark Story. I do not however believe them to be literal, I know that much.

Pretty literal as far as above land animals go, but not something I dwell on a lot. I do find it interesting that most cultures around the world have a flood story. However, if it isn't literal doesn't really deter my faith. My faith is more in Jesus Christ than the old testament. I think the Old Testament is the word of God, but how literal or figurative it is doesn't change my life all that much. Ultimately Christ's love and his dying for my sins are what I tend to focus on more. Things like the "how do you explain the dinosaurs?" debate are something that someone else can argue about, I'll worry about that when I'm dead and I can ask God myself.

I always struggle with this question.

This. I'm just not as informed on the subject as I should be.

Would this boil down to every specific species? For instance, were there both the African Elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the Asiatic Elephant (Elephas maximus) on board? Or was it just two "elephants" and the species diverged post-flood?

What kind of information would you need to make a decision?

I'd need to know the specific dimensions of the ark to determine the feasibility of it. :D

There's no feasible way to have one, let alone two, of every species on the ark given the dimensions given in the Bible.

What about water dwelling dinos?

What is the creationist belief on dinosaurs?

What kind of information would you need to make a decision?

Dinosaurs in general...differing theories about how they came to be extinct. Also the creationist views concerning dinosaurs & the ark.
