Regardless of how you feel and who you wanted to be playing, the rematch is fact. So, who you got and why?

Only one opponent scored more than 14 points. Seven of 12 opponents held to less than 10 points.

Seven of 13 opponents held to less than 10 points.

 

 

In the first matchup, Alabama outgained LSU 295-239. The TOP was basically even, both teams had two interceptions, penalty yardage was close, 'Bama had two more first downs, etc. The difference was Alabama's inability to make a FG. They finished 2 of 6 for the game...if just one of the three misses in regulation go through, they win. If the one in OT goes through, the outcome is unknown.

 

The point being, these teams were viewed as even the first time around and that is exactly how it played out on the field, requiring overtime to decide the game. There's no reason to see things differently this time around.

I mentioned this in another thread, in the first game we had Jared Lee as the main QB we had to work on, plus Jordan Jefferson was gonna play also, so we had to spend time on him too. But Lee has not played since the 2nd quarter against us and is now a non factor. If he does play how is his mental physic and how game rusty is he?

 

We will force JJ to pass the ball and I like our chances with our defense. Right now we are worried about losing staff coaches. January 9th if they stay with Bama but have another job is a long time for their recruiting. More later and nice job on the stats.

 

Also I guess Bama/Saban haters out in the world will be trying to dig up dirt on our coach to try and get us /staff thinking about other things.

Too many big playmakers on the defensive side of the ball for LSU. McCarron is solid, but I wouldn't trust him against the LSU D. If LSU is able to contain Trent, which I think they do, I don't Bama moving the ball much. JMO.

Right now I see 24-7. They score on a fumble or blocked punt. One first down against Georgia weighs heavy on my brain. But still will wait to the 8th to pick. Someone might get into trouble.

LSU is much better now then when they played Bama the first time. Can we say that about the Tide? How could we tell, they've played no one since? I think LSU pushes the issue early and forces Bama to become more aggressive.

I just can't see 24-7 either way. These teama are way too close to each other for that. I see like, 17-13 LSU. Way too much time for Les to prepare to dwell on that UGA game. I can see Bama winning, because they are definitely talented enough, but I don't believe they will. Les always wins his big games, and I believe he is a mastermind at preparing for bowl games. I, for one, like Jefferson more than Bamas QB. I think Jeffersons passing game has gotten a lot better this year from what I have seen. I will admit though, that I have watched the Tigers more than the Tide this year. I think that as long as LSU somewhat contains Richardson, and i think they will because they've learned from the first time they played and from additional scouting, then Bama isn't going to be able to move the ball.

The difference is that there's only 1 team in football that COULD shut him down, and that team is the Bayou Bengals. I just think they hold him to under 75, which IMO is a win for the D.
