GRC will travel to Mt. Sterling for a battle with district rival and #1 ranked 10th region team Friday night in a boys and girls double header. Girls game will be first. This is the seed game for both boys and girls for the district. Your thoughts and predictions on this game.

This will be a fun game to watch. GRC under the floor leadership of Stenzil is only going to get better as the season goes on. Prewitt and Handshoe for Mont. Co. are playing well at this point in season. I give the edge to MC on homecourt. IMO keys to this game will be bench play. MC has Jones, Burton, Razor, and Kelley that has the talent to stepup and play well. GRC has been playing at least 10 deep in other games. Their lost to Mad. Central will have them HUNGRY for a road win.

This will be one of the better games in this area on Friday. Big rival game and district seed. Agree will be fun to watch. GRC is young, but I rellay like the showing they had against State ranked Madison Central on Tuesday. GRC has to hit thier FT's. GRC's bench play is unproven at this point in the season. Have some kids on the team that wasn't on there last year, also several Sophomores and one Freshman.

If/when GRC gets its next win will be on the road. Only one home game (last Friday) all others on the road till Jan 3rd.

Both teams have big games this Saturday too in the Kentucky Bank Shootout at Bourbon Co. Montgomery Co will take on Ashland and GRC will take on Manual.

GRC's defense will need to be tough in trying to stop Prewitt and Handshoe. If they can shutdown the other players, this will be interesting.

GRC's X-factors for this game will need to be Roberts and Rogers. Need big games out of both of them for the win in what should be a big crowd.

A statement game for MC, win or lose it will say something even though it's early.

Someone explain the term "X FACTOR".

X Factor is a term for important parts of the team with potential to be critical contributors in big games. Stenzel and Fatkin will have great game, but for GRC to win at Montgomery Co - they will need Roberts and Rogers to be those important links.

Montgomery County gets the win, not because of playing on their home court:deadhorse: just my prediction on this particular matchup.

This is a coin flip game. I'll go with MC by 4. Goes down to buzzer.

If this was the first game for either team, I would have said Montgomery County by 15-20. However, GRC has proven that they're yet again a force in the 10th. That being said, I still like Montgomery County to win, but certainly not by that margin.

I agree. GRC has come out of the gate strong this season. If GRC wins, it would be a upset and showes how wide open the 10th is this year.

Thank you. I saw it used all last season following Clark Co games and it was used different ways and at times had different meanings. Some used it as to describe the main players in the game and others used it as you explain in your comment. I agree with your comment.

If the region is a wide open as it is, would any win/lose be an upset? I do understand that by preseason rankings it is, but those are just numbers.

Montgomery Co. 67

GRC- 63

With all that GRC lost to graduation and lack of experience, and Montgomery Co returing Prewitt and Handshoe, yes it would be a upset IMO.
