Nothing Brossart can do but not schedule them anymore and take the win but Silver Grove would have to agree. You cant tell kids to not play but this score is ridiculous.

Those were his options. Brossart went as deep as they could and neither team backed down. Better games for both teams in the near future. Brossart never pressed, but played their typical stingy defense. Brossart played 12 sophomores in the game last night.

With this beat down in basketball does the football team side with BB or SG? There was a big stink over the football teams move to 2A and the assumption they could'nt compete. Now they turn around and destroy an inferior opponent?

That's what I assumed. Some other schools in districts that don't seed have a similar mindset. While I understand where they're coming from, I feel like seeding should be mandatory statewide. But I place a big emphasis on quality regional tournaments. Seeding, I believe, gives you a much better shot at quality regionals.

I read that story, now the administration is talking about terminating the program at Pikeville Middle for poor sportsmanship. But I agree with what you are saying, games like this are starting to get teams in trouble by winning too much.

 

It is a must read article to understand the whole story, but its interesting.

He should have written about Red Bird and Riverside Christian. LOL JK :banana:

Curious if Highlands or CovCath approached Pendleton County and asked them to "stand down" and agree to a loss vs. playing those football seeding games this year???? Seems like an identical situation??

That is what I was thinking, and for scoring 30 and losing he almost won those games single handly, and he is the only player i have seen get a standing ovation from the other teams fans.

Corey was well respected by the Brossart players, coaches and fans, and was frequently featured on Mustang's website. He grew up playing many sports with several of the BB 2007 seniors.
