The girlfriend is dead set on purchasing one of the three. She's planning on getting it from Best Buy as they're offering 0% for 18 months. As most know, I am against Mac's in general, but thought I'd be nice and try to get some help for her. Which is the best? Her needs for it will be mainly internet browsing and school. If she gets the iPad, she's planning on purchasing the school related apps for her degree and using them like textbooks.

What does everyone recommend? Pros/Cons of each?

Thanks.

I assume she will need to use Word, Powerpoint, or Excel? If so the IPad might not be for her.

I wouldn't recommend the iPad for school if she has to type papers and what not.

She has a laptop that works fine as well...I think this is more for entertainment purposes, but she's using the school aspect to try to justify it to herself. Of course, you won't hear me tell her that. :D

I've said it before, you're an eerily quick responder.

If she doesn't truly intend on using it for school then an iPad should be fine.

I voted "Any are good", but actually don't see why one would get a Mac Book Air. Can't go wrong with the other two, it just depends on what she wants to do with it.

^What is it about the Air that makes you feel that way?

If I remember correctly they have no internal hard drive or it has a very very small memory.

Air doesn't have good battery life either. If she is planning to spend a grand or two. I would go with the Pro. Everyone I know that has one loves them.

Cheapest Pro is only a few hundred dollars more and much, much better.

If she has a laptop already and is making the purchase for entertainment only, the Ipad should be the easy choice. Cheapest of the 3 as well...

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but if you are going to use something for school, what should you get then?
