November 17, 201114 yr To me it is a lot bigger of a problem that comes from the Hollywood infrastructural powers-that-be. Sure, there are biases. The same cast of people are recycled over and over again, and this includes your predominate African American actors or actresses. I believe it is similar to the constant controversy of African American coaches. I do not think all the decision makers are racist, but there is a racial component to it all. I would assume a lot of executives in the industry are white.
November 17, 201114 yr Author My wife and I have been together for 10 years and we have never sniffed the first issue about our race.Consider yourself lucky. I've been in a few interracial relationships and had issues about our race, even a physical altercation in one case.
November 17, 201114 yr I'm not sure what constitutes a Blockbuster, but I don't think those three fit that bill. I own and enjoy them all, but I don't think they'd be considered a blockbuster hit. A blockbuster would be a movie that brings in at least 100 million right? 150 million? If you consider a blockbuster to be over $100 million then Se7en fits the bill with rigth at $100,000,000. Also all 3 Rush Hours did over $100 million with Rush Hour 2 over $200 million. Some others are... Sister Act American Gangster Big Mamma's House Blazing Saddles Remember the Titans After researching this a little I can see why the aurthor choose to exclude Will Smith and try to discount Eddie Murphy. Almost ever single movie on the list of over $100 million is one of their movies.
November 17, 201114 yr Good info woods, I was wondering about the Rush Hours. I knew they did well enough for Chris Tucker to say he'd never be Smokey again. Which is a shame because Smokey, Da Da and Craig would be comedy gold in The Last Friday.

The first one is one of my favorites.
November 17, 201114 yr Consider yourself lucky. I've been in a few interracial relationships and had issues about our race, even a physical altercation in one case. Yeah, I'd say so. I am sure it'd get ugly if we ever had to. My wife doesn't hold her tongue when provoked.

"I don't care how high ya get..." Some of the best comdey movies of all time.
November 17, 201114 yr Yeah, I was suprised when all 3 were up there. I agree on Tucker coming back for 1 more Friday movie. The first one is one of my favorites. I just read yesterday they are going to make another Friday movie and Chris Tucker is coming back. How cool would that be. http://www.tmz.com/2011/11/16/ice-cube-and-chris-tucker-in-talks-for-another-friday-movie-says-d-bo-actor/
November 17, 201114 yr I heard murmurs of a Last Friday flick about a year ago but nothing materialized. This is great to hear. That move would be huge I bet. Can't leave out Da Da though. I like how TMZ mentioned Tucker's money problems and then ended with "he still has a private jet?". I love TMZ. Can't believe Ashton and Demi didn't last. Didn't see that one coming.
November 17, 201114 yr From the article: Now, think about the last time you saw a white guy get it on wtih a black lady (and again, where race wasn't a major theme of the movie). The list is surprisingly long: The Bodyguard, Die Another Day, The Score, Boiler Room... I guess White Men Can't Jump doesn't count.
