Will Penn State clear house and bring someone new in for next season. If so, who? Despite the controversy is this still an "attractive" job for other candidates?

November 10, 201114 yr You are walking in to a decent situation on the field at Penn State. A completely new regime will cure a lot of the media worries. If they completely clean house in regards to coaches I think the long term damage will be minimal as far as recruiting and ability to win. Take in mind you will be walking in to a team that potentially just won a conference title despite all the turmoil and it's not a bad job to be interested in.

I could see a situation similar to the Baylor basketball one in the recent past where anyone who wanted to transfer could do so without having to sit out.

I believe that all coaches that have been there with Paterno will be gone after the season; I'll be surprised if any remain.

Yes but they rebounded nicely in a short time period if you look at them now. Less than a decade removed and have fielded top 25/elite 8 teams.

As Matt Millen said, there is a train coming, don't know when it's going to arrive, and I don't think we have heard the last of this whole situation. That being said, I'm not sure very many seasoned coaches will be interested in this job. Meyer, will be at Ohio St., if he coaches next year. As long a Jo Pa has been at Penn St., you don't hear alot about his coaching tree. Golden that is at Miami comes to mind, he might be interested. No one on that staff will be offered the job and they will no doubt clean house, they have to.
November 10, 201114 yr Author Do you think it has to be an established coach to take over? Or could it be a well-qualified assistant coach? I would like to see Mike Leach get back into coaching? Do you think PSU shows interest in him or stay away due to his controversial end at Texas Tech?
