I hear ya. In the 7 games since the Cov Cath game, Beechwood has scored 60+ in every game except New Cath. And the New Cath game was by far the most fun game of them all. A good competitive game is much more fun than an easy win.

Mayfield in my opinion plays a tough enough schedule. We had a very tough scrimmage to start with Milan Tenn, PT, Graves, Greenwood . We have had some cupcakes too. If you get too hard a schedule, especially a 1A school, you run the risk of injuries with not much depth as the bigger schools. Our schedule is as hard as Beechwoods and like I have said Beechwood hasn't beaten a really good team , other than NCC, in 3 years. You will beat Ludlow though.

My complaint is with 1A, We have not had a close game with a 1A school in years. 2009 was the last and then they are few and far between. Atleast most, if not all the other classes, say 6A, the games are competitive. This is what happens when somebody wants to have to many classes. Thanks KHSAA! I certainly get more nap time and home early most Friday nights durning district and playoffs. Who enjoys a masacure week after week, VoR seems to feel it too.

Your schedule is no where close to BW's. Don't even start. Graves (4-7) and Greenwood (5-5) are terrible. SK and Dixie would beat them both. Evansville Harrison, IN is terrible with only 2 wins. Milan was a scrimmage and doesn't count last I checked. PT lost their QB in 2nd quarter. Heck you've beat PT last 8 years so they don't seem to be that great. Put the ball gag back in SNot!

I don't blame this on there being 6 classes. If there were only 4 classes, BW and Mayfield would still have quite a few lopsided games. In fact, having 6 classes might help with this since both schools are now very close to being in 2A. If there were only 4 classes, there would be no hope of getting into 2A.

Totally agree. My wife cannot understand why I am in the door by 9 PM lately on Friday nights. Hmmmm.....maybe it's not the Beechwood early blowouts I should be concerned about.

Graves and Greenwood are not terrible both teams were actually very hardnosed. Graves, especially was good and they were just a few points from having a 7-4 season. Milan , which as you say was just a scrimmage and it was but they are ranked #2 in Tenn in class 3A , we handled them easily which gives us something to go on. It doesnt count on the record but it doesnt matter to us, it was still against a very quailty opponent. Anyway in a few weeks you will see how we fared with our schedule and I have a special place you can put that ball gag.

Mayfield's opponents have a combined record of 52-68

You NKY people are always skewed on how you think you play this great schedule, guess what, you don't.

I think the last couple of years have proven that a debate about schedule is pretty much worthless when it comes to evaluating Mayfield. Forget about what their schedule looks like because it really doesn't tell you how good they are. Plus, Western Kentucky is in its own world out there and the rest of the state doesn't know how good or bad most of these teams are. Western Ky. has been having pretty good success in the playoffs in recent years so that should tell you that they are playing good football out there. Bottom line, IMO it is a waste of time and energy to try and evaluate Mayfield by their schedule. They are deservedly #1 in the state and that is all anyone needs to know.
