Don't know if I'd be all that happy with both of those signings or not. Maybe one of them...but not both. I guess it depends on what role you see Yonder, Heisey and Stubbs playing. Personally, I think a platoon of Yonder and Heisey in left would be better than spending FA bucks to bring in Willingham.

November 1, 201114 yr What about Jason Kubel? A sprained foot limited Kubel to 99 games in 2011, making his final numbers look middling. But he is a proven power source -- he topped 20 home runs in each season between 2008 and 2010 -- and he remains relatively young, making him a potential bargin. The perenially bargain-hunting Indians need a good leftfielder -- they got just seven home runs from that position last season -- and Kubel could fit the bill. In those seven years, his OBP is .334 ... combine that with his utter lack of power and what might be the worst outfield arm in the majors, he isn't anything resembling a good player.

IMO to many people on here act like all these other teams have good leadoff hitters. The majority of major league teams don't have really good leadoff hitters either. So unless we brought in like Jose Reyes, I doubt anyone would really like our leadoff man. It would either be his OBP is not good enough, he is not fast enough, strikes out to much, bats only around .230. There are very few leadoff hitters in baseball that will do pretty well in close to all the area's that people want in a leadoff hitter. A guy might have one good year, and then back to below average the next year. So unless we bring in Jose Reyes, people on here won't be happy and still would complain about the leadoff spot. Even though it is very rare to find a good leadoff hitter.
