So here it goes.........Negativity breeds negativity and kids read all this blaming game, putting down their coaches and anything other than what the reasons are. Enough of that and kids will start to believe it, talk amoung one another, argue and it tears the team apart. So, just maybe if some want a reason things are not going well they can look oin the mirror to find one reason.

I apologize for going off and it is not directed at any one person or fan base. I just get sick of some fans and parents playing this "blame anyone or anything" other than where the actual problems are. Want to win? Don't make excuses, work harder to get better!

Everything you underlined goes to one thing? who is in charge of making them work harder? the fans?You can say a better team,but you must say your coaching staff outcoached the Russell staff as well,although the coaches didn't fumble the ball. Nice avatar oldrambler,good luck to your Rams in the playoffs.........I will be rooting for them, they have a fine team and are well prepared.

Should Russell fans want to ride the excuse/blame train, so be it. I respect Russell, their fans and traditon, it is a great one that few can match but........You can spin it any way you want to make it taste better but here is the bottom line........The Russell kids played hard but the Red Devils were beaten by a better football team last Friday...[/.were dominated on the line, were out played and soundly beaten......End of Story!!

I think anyone that anyone can see who is controlling this renewed series......What was the excuse the previous three years?? I know that when Raceland loses a game, I don't like it and am upset but I and other Raceland fans on here give credit where it is due...the team that beat us, are not blaming our coaches, off the field problems, injured players or the referee's bad calls, etc,,.....we get whipped, we admit it, give kudos to the opposition and look foward to the next meeting. End of story.

Thats what fans do when they lose. Look back and play the what if game. Easy to blame the coach. Not looking at the talent of kids coming through the system. A proven winner just doesn't forget how to coach after years of success. It's talent my friends. Just not enough of it now in devil land. Sure the coach would love to put a kid or two at running back or QB. But needs him more at other positions. We have a running back that is doing a great job in the backfield this year. But last year he was needed more on the line.

Ashland imo was the best team that Raceland faced all season.

:ohbrother: Unblievable!! Helper, I sure do hope that the Russell players don't have the same attitude that you do. That is the most exvcuse making/finger pointing statement that you have made, and that is saying something :lol:. Yes, a coach prepares his team for the upcoming game but don't you think that it is also up to the kids to work hard, learn and most of all to execute that game plan? A team could have Nick Saban or ressurrect Bear Bryant come in to install a game plan and if it is not executed it is worthless! Let me guess, not one thing goes on any Russell player when you lose, they never make a mistake, miss blocks, miss tackles,etc... I take it that they also never hear their fans or parents put their coach down or God forbid put any responsibilty on the players themselves. One question if I may.....have you ever went to Coach McG.lone or any of the other fine coaches on the Russell staff and expressed your opinion to them? If so, I am willing to bet what answer you got .

I know that the entire Russell fan base does'nt have you opinion or outlook but I lknow that regretfully there are plenty that do. Always spinning things to someone else's fault, playing the blame game and/or anything but the real reasons.....they were beaten by a better football team, period.

I appreciate your pulling for Raceland in their playoff game but also have to be honest in saying that with your attitude/outlook I am fine with you being a Russell fan, actually prefer it.

Good Luck to your talented and well coached Red Devils this week. I hope that the kids can overcome all the bleacher coaches and "Coach P.C. Inet". Mr. P.C. has gotten more teams beat than anyone :sssh:.

Maynard had a great game-plan, McGlone had the same game plan he has done for ever. Good man, but he should have parked the bus in 2006. The game has evolved and he has not. Turnovers were critical, Davidson will play somewhere in college,his high school career was good but should have been lights out good for this area. Congrats Rams

I agree, Davidson is too talented to be utilized as he is. He will have a great college career.

I would say it had more to do with turnovers as to "a better team", they were on this night,but eliminate the turnovers it would be even at least teamwise. Davidson is the best player on the field and at 6'5"-240lbs, and athletic,should be utilized more in the offense. DeHoff should have been developed into the qb,utilizing Hayes in more effective positions. This has been complained by a heckuva lot more than myself but it is what it is. Yes,McGlone is a great coach,person,a Ky hall of famer in the high school ranks,no one questions that, but many,many thinkit is time for a change in direction in the whole program. He must take the good with the bad. Look at the whole program,top to bottom in the development of younger players, the bottom line is winning,and Russell via McGlone has lost ability to field teams as they should. Heap the praise,he deserves it, but he is not perfect,nor above being held responsible. New structure and leadership is needed top to bottom.

Russell is not what they were in the past and from the looks of the upcoming players and the returning players, this pattern is only going to continue. Good luck against Western Hills. I would like to see all the area teams playing deep into the playoffs.

You just ramble on and on, we get it, you're upset with Ivan McGlone and the way he runs the Russell program. It's funny how Russell fans weren't complaining when Ivan brought home a state title and runner up in back to back years. The line that I put in bold font would lead me to believe you are a jaded parent or former player.
