I never said you were. The majority of those that complain about this stuff are doing so for no other reason than the fact that they can't tolerate anyone who beliefs differently than them.

But it is student led, isnt that what all the anit-prayer posters said should happen in teh first place,so where is the support now since it is student led.

 

For the 80th time, please put an "s" after the word "atheist" if you are referring to the plural. An atheist is one person. Atheists are more than one person. Thank you.

 

Secondly, I don't recall anyone promoting that solution (student led prayer), though I do know schools who do that. What I remembering promoted was people choosing to pray on their own, independent of the intercom.

UK, The FCA is in almost every public school in the state, also in many private schools too. They can meet anytime except during class time. This is a considered a "Club" and most other clubs clubs have the same time allowed for it to meet.

 

The FCA club would allow the Atheists to come and attend. An Atheist would be allowed to start up their own club too. Some schools have "Gay Right Clubs, so my point is would a Christian be allowed to attend the Atheists club? Not saying your one of those just asking the ste of Non Believers.

 

On a side bar note I lived in this area before moving to Kentucky, it is very Bible based area (Bible Belt) and these folks are different. Mr. Green should have kept his name out of the paper.

If you believe in Jesus you have to believe in Satan. Satan isn't going anywhere soon.

So, if I'm reading the thread title correctly, all the coach has to do is take Jesus out of the game and the prayers could go on as planned?

ACE, Jesus spoke of Satan/Hell more than anyone in the Bible. So you don't believe there is a Devil? Satan walks daily with us, just like he did when Jesus was on Earth. Satan temps us every day, its called Sin. God hates Sin. If a person is a Non Believer he is with out Jesus so who is he with? An Atheists will walk with satan. If someone fight a prayer for kids playing sports, what are they? A Disciple of Jesus Christ?

I think the bolded is the caveat in your line of thinking that you don't seem to notice.

 

The clubs meet after school on "their time" not the "school's time." Why? So the school will not be seen as endorsing any faith or religion over everyone. :thumb:

That no more gives you the right to hammer your narrow brand of Christianity through their head any more than anyone else. Who's to say Hatz doesn't want Satan's blessing and doesn't want to hear your interpretation of it or God's version of such?

It's school time as I understand it. School pays for it, sanctions it and runs it. Just my take AL.

Give me the money and I will. But I shouldnt have to. Why dont we build atheist schools for kids to go to.

 

It doesn't quite work that way! Far, far too many parents have in the past or are right now working two or three jobs, scrimping on things like vacations, cars extras so they can afford to send their children to Christian/Catholic schools. It is indeed a choice that is taken very, very seriously in many, many homes but they believe in their Religion and do what they think is best for their children and no one gives them any money!

Jim, I'm taught by the Bible, its not my "Narrow brand of Christianity" but if you read the article most people are upset that someone is protesting.

 

That area is off Highway 72. It a major road that connects I-65 to the west of Alabama. Its at the Athens/Huntsville exit. It has a lot of Baptist Churches/Church Of Christ thru the whole area. These folks like I stated earlier will not find this protest to their liking.

 

Nothing has changed for me in the earlier threads on this issue. If we protested everytime we disagreed with something we would be very busy. I have just responded as I felt the Holy Spirirt to guide me.

I haven't spent much time in this one. Should I assume we haven't broken any new ground from the previous threads?
