I know some names are new. Kinmon is a Grant Co transfer and Helton went to Calvary Christian last year. I don't know where they live. Is the Taulbee boy a brother to the Taulbee girl who transferred from Connor last year?

Nolan Daugherty has decided to come back and play his senior year also, not sure of the impact but he does bring some senior leadership.

 

Not sure if skipping a year will help with senior leadership? I think kids look up to those that have made the full commitment to the program?

Remembering back to high school, I always looked at senior teammates as something special.

I disagree i think leadership is earned through hard work hustle, and knowing your role and doing your job. Which the kid does he lead the football team I dont see how its bad thing to have that on your team.

Not saying it is bad for anyone to show hard work and hustle. Just saying, if I'm looking up to someone, I prefer to look up to someone who shows hard work, hustle, knows his role and has given it his all for all 4 years versus one that took a sabatical (unless it was injury related or another legit reason). Good luck to the kid, sounds like he is a hard worker. Plus with only 2 other Seniors maybe he could be the one shine in that role.

He did a nice job.

He is in football shape and not basketball shape yet but moves up and down the floor pretty well.

Did a nice job setting screens and getting some boards. It was great to see him on the floor. He will be a BIG addition because Walton will need a big body down low to bang with some of the other teams in the Eighth.

Senior Dustin Cottrell decided to join the team this week. He's probably the strongest player on the team and pretty athletic. Should help with depth on this team.

Different strokes for different folks, I would not be happy if I had been practicing since October 15 and putting in time in the summer and then somebody gets to play when he starts practicing when the games begin, Trame must be a heck of a salesman!!

I'm really glad that Dustin is playing his senior year. He has battled an injury the last couple years and its good to see him playing basketball again. As a freshman (and maybe soph. yr?) he played quite a bit of varsity.

Kinmon lives within walking distance of the WV High School and he really adds something special to the team. He can score 25 on any given night, but most importantly he can score 6 points and still help you win. He has always made players around him better and seems to have a calming effect on players around him. He has never had talent on the floor with him like he will have this year.
