The Dream Team goes down at home vs the injury prone Giants.

Eli had 4 TD's and 0 interceptions...which is huge. Victor Cruz came up huge and made Asomugha look bad a couple of times.

Oh, and Vick got hit alot, broke his non throwing hand and complained about the hits afterwards.

"The refs have to do their job and I'm not blaming the referees by any stretch, so let's not get it twisted here," Vick said. "I'm just saying I think everybody on the field should do their job."

Not sure how it could be twisted any other way. Vick was certainly blaming the officials for the pounding he has taken over the first three weeks. Sunday, for the second week in a row, he had to leave the game with an injury. Last week in Atlanta, it was a concussion. This time, it was a broken right hand.

Vick said "absolutely" when asked if he feels he doesn't get the calls that other elite QBs get.

"I mean, you all see it," Vick said. "There's no reason for me to go into a big dissertation about why I'm not getting the calls. The refs, they have to do their job as well. I even mentioned it in training camp to the refs when we had our little meeting, just for precaution. But hey, I don't know."

Another good excerpt from the above article. Vick tries to say he isnt complaining, but it sure looks like he is.

"

If you look at all the replays," Vick said, "I'm on the ground every time and it's unfortunate for myself and it's unfortunate for my team. . . . Every time I throw the ball, I'm on the ground, getting hit in the head and I don't know why."

Because the Eagles offensive line isn't particularly good right now.

Because Vick holds on to the ball longer than many quarterbacks - a problem when he gets hit but a plus when he improvises a big play.

Figured swamprat would like to know his South Florida players on the Giants are doing very well.

Jason Pierre Paul had two sacks and now has 4.5 on the year. And J. Williams led the team in tackles. Not bad for a 6th round draft pick.

My roommate was looking around, said that Victor Cruz was owned in .3% of leagues on ESPN. I'm sure many will pick him up after this week, but once Manningham, Hixon, and Nicks all get healthy, he will probably go back to being irrelevant. Good day for him though.

Eagles fans can blame the loss on Vick getting hurt...again. But how can you let Eli Manning torch you like that? And I like Eli, believe it or not, but still. Suppose to be a top defense, with great corners and a solid pass rush? I didn't get to watch much of the game yesterday, but from seeing Eli's numbers...it has to make you wonder what they were doing.

Philly has a good secondary and 1 good pass rusher, Trent Cole. Besides that they are mediocre. On offense they are terrible up front with the exception of Jason Peters. McCoy is great out of the backfield. Undersized at WR but have play-makers. I have highlighted my concerns before over Vick. Coming in to the season I felt the Eagles would be somewhere around 9-7 or 10-6. I still think that.

Vick didnt play very well so not sure they would have won even if he stayed in. And Hixon isnt coming back this season...torn ACL.

^The latest is that Vick is day-to-day with a contusion not a fracture.

I was impressed with the Giants plan to throw the ball to their backs and minimize the opportunities for the Philly secondary. Out of Eli's 23 attempts, 8 were to Bradshaw and Jacobs, including the big 40 yard TD pass to Jacobs. I thought that call was genius. Jacobs is rarely used as a checkdown guy, much less running a wheel route down the sideline. Gilbride won the chess match on that call for sure.

Who knows, but without him, just like last week, you knew they weren't going to win. Kafka came in and immediately threw a pick that lead to the Giants pretty much sealing the game with another TD. After a bad first quarter, the Eagles had scored on 4 of the 6 previous drives before Vick's injury. I think it would have gone down to the wire if he'd stayed in.

You know what you're going to get with a Vick. A dynamic, explosive player when he's in and healthy, but a huge injury risk because of his style of play. He simply does not do the things he needs to do to protect himself and I don't believe we will ever see him play a full season in his career from this point forward.

The key for Philly is to make the post-season and have a healthy Vick when that time arrives. The thing is, he's started all the games this season, but has left with injuries in two that have cost them both games.

And, what's worse, I think the injuries he's suffered this season have been more about bad luck than his style of play. The concussion wasn't even that hard of a hit, he just fell into his own player.
