However, we all have friends and if one of those friends got into trouble we'd still support them even if it was really bad.

If what he is being accused of is true there is no supporting that. with that said he is inocent unless proven guilty he deserves the benefit of that. Just does not look good to resign if you are innocent. If you are innocent stand strong and fight the charges.

If the man is charged and found guilty I think it tarnishes some of his acomplishments that some are touting. Character counts especially if you are a coach. Before I would put my name on someone I want to make the person I think someone is really is that person. My opinion.
September 23, 201115 yr Don't know the man, don't know the accusations, but it is correct we live in a country where supposedly you are innocent until proven guilty. No matter how you cut it and no matter what the situation is, this is truly saddening. The one thing I have always taught my players is that football is a microcosm of life. it teaches you how to face adversity, it measures you as a man, hopefully all concerned will learn from this. My heart goes out to all concerned, and I hope this forum will not become a rumour mill in this regards...just the two cents of someone who doesn't have a clue as to what is going on.

And IMO it is no question that no matter how great your accomplishments are, you can tarnish that very quickly with unsavory actions. Nobody really knows the true character of another man but you base your opinion on what you do know until and unless they give you a reason to change it.

September 23, 201115 yr Wow, this will get ugly. I don't know the coach personally but I now feel very badly for the players. They will be asked by so many people about their coach. I hope that the rest of the coaching staff will protect them and help them understand whats going on and lead them in a direction of playing football and not concerning themselves with all the stuff that will be going on around them.

In the end I hope it is not true about the man. IMO though I would not quit anything if someone is accusing me of something. I am going head to head with you. Maybe he just got tired and did not want to waste his time fighting it. There are no winners here.

Wokring in the school system, I would say, he had no choice but to resign.
