Do you always turn off your brights, even if it's like a 4 lane with a median that's a lane or two wide as well?

 

I do. If there's a car coming toward me, I turn off the high beams. And if there's a car in front of me, I lower them as well. I, personally, have a super difficult time driving in the dark. High beams in my eyes cause me terrible vision problems. I know I'm not the only one. And it's even worse in the rain, when the drops magnify and refract everything.

^ I'm with you. I can't see very well when it's dark and rainy. Brights make it a lot worse.

No, dumping out the alcohol would really ruin the day. I'd consider them lucky.

Actually I've seen this twice in Bowling Green as well.

I've always been against the practice of flashing your lights to warn oncoming cars because you never know who you are warning. The police may be sitting there looking for a stolen car, a kidnapped child, a bank robber, a drunk driver, someone who was reported to be in that area. To me, it seems you are interfering in police business whether or not it's just a speed trap.

If they're sitting by the road way looking for those things wouldn't that mean they have a description of the vehicle and wouldn't matter if the person was speeding or not.

I-65 need a billboard when you cross into IN letting you know whether or not they are preying on out-of-towners that day.

I got a ticket there and the total stop was about 2.5-3 minutes. Didn't check any of my stuff other than I had it. Pure and simple it's a revenue generator and that's it. People wonder why cops are not liked---it's stuff like that which gives them there bad name.

I have a customer in Jeffersonville and everytime I go there I drive 5 mph under. I have been warned by several people there to be extra careful since I have ky plates. They said the state troopers live off of out of towners.

Been given a ticket there and seen others receive them as well, maybe they're getting softer these days.

I'm with BlueMagic, it slows people down without costing them $160. However, if I see someone really flying I don't warn them because they deserve to be busted. Its a judgment call and if you live where I live its definitely a revenue generator.

Someone said it. All about revenue. If flashing you're lights makes people slow down, isn't that the ultimate goal? Just like when cops give minor in possession of alcohol citations and don't dump out the alcohol. It's clearly about revenue and not cutting down on the illegal activity or keeping people safe. If you asked me I'd say it's around 20% about safety, 80% about revenue.

People say police ruin someone's day, but here you are wanting them to give someone a citation and poor out their beer. Maybe they're trying to be nice by offering up a citation, but letting you keep the beer to drink away the pain.

So wait, you are complaining because the traffic stop was quick? Would you rather the police officer kept you there for 10 minutes? Or would you have complained then because it took too long?
