Great rivalry game here. Both teams coming off a loss vs. out-of-state opponents; although many will argue that the Red Devils' showing against Ironton had more positives than negatives.

This is one of those games that us old timers just get excited about when we see "Ashland vs Russell". Long history here and one of those games you used to go buy a newspaper on Saturday to see the score. After this past week, this one looks like it could be a good one.

I think the Tomcats have a little to much speed for the devils to handle. I'll take the cats by 10.

Ashland by 2td's, maybe more. Russell is much improved and has a good football team. I just think that Ashland is the best team in our area this year.

You can bet that Coach McGlone and the Red Devils remember last year's game. I look for a classic Russell/Ashland game tha will be decided late in the game.

Being the "favorite" means nothing in this match-up. Over the years the "underdog" has often won. Russell is much improved from last year and they are home. The Tomcats better come ready to play hard.
