With this game now about 32 hours away, I figured it was time to get some sort of game thread going. What are everyone's feelings on the game?

 

For me, I think Louisville is going to get exposed on defense but Murray won't have the ability to stop Louisville's offense. Bold prediction considering the rotten state of Louisville's secondary, I know.

Things to consider...

 

MSU's QB (Brockman) is a potential All-American candidate. At least on the radar. The Racers will fling it all across the field. If he can get adequate protection they will move the ball on the Cardinals. Mike Harris will open some eyes out of the backfield and also an All-American candidate. Not a lot depth up front on either side of the ball.

 

As with most of these games the sheer numbers and power of a BCS caliber opponent becomes too much to handle. Your prediction looks pretty solid.

I think a Louisville blogger said it best earlier this week when he said that "this game will have some tense moments, but none of them will come in the fourth quarter." I think Louisville's pass rush will grow more effective as the game wears on and Murray's offensive effectiveness is going to dwindle as the game progresses. Looking forward to seeing Murray's offense at work though. We Louisville fans love an "air it out" offense... I do miss Bobby Petrino sometimes...

I take these games for what they are designed for. It is just a scrimmage.

 

What I want to see from UofL

 

1. defense get pressure.

2. Secondary make plays

3. Offense be able to run the football with little problems.

4. The Qb's manage the game. (Limit their mistakes)

Unless UL is just terrible on offense this year, they should easily put up more than 28 on Murray State.

Agreed. The problem for UofL won't come with getting into the endzone tomorrow; it'll be how effective that EXTREMELY unproven secondary can be at keeping Murray out of it.

My daughter and her friends used to go to the Murray football games just to watch the half time shows and to listen to the band during the games!
