Does it look like CovCath is going to challenge Highlands?

Featured Replies

-Win over Ryle in a scrimmage

-Complete domination of Campbell County

-Much improved over last year

Is this the year the Colonels get it done against that team from Fort Thomas?

Possibly, regardless of the turnout, should be a close game.

Too early to tell, but definitely a fun topic for discussion.

I agree the thought is exciting.

It should be MUCH more competitive than it has been in recent years.

Both quality programs.

Last year it was 27-20 with CovCath driving when time ran out. I think that is pretty competitive.

October 15, 2010 - Highlands 27 Covington Catholic 20

IMO - 2011 ... Highlands is about the same as last year; Covington Catholic is clearly better

The rivalry is back. Let the fun begin.

Theoldugy take:

One game at a time, one victory at a time and getting better after each practice and game!

Let HHS worry about CovCath, CovCath will just work harder getting ready to beat Dixie this week!

Dixie plays both teams (presumably with Pike) the next two weeks so those results should give a better early season comparison of the two teams (although as we all know comparative scores also frequently can misleading).

I think it will be determined in the trenches. Whoever has the healthier line when they meet will have the advantage. Bir is very impressive and with time can pick you apart. Highlands has owned the series recently so they have that as an advantage. Regardless, it will be a competitive game.

I sure hope the game is determined in the trenches. I will put CovCath up against anyone up front. There offensive line will provide anyone including Highlands a big challenge! Highlands still the team to beat but watch out if CovCath can get the defensive side of the ball competitive against good teams.

What's the Colonels' D-line look like?

Yes it does, and its about time.

Its likely that the first meeting will set the stage for the ultimate build-up to the second meeting.

Its going to be a great season in 4A!
