NKY Next Season

Featured Replies

Now that the season is over, who looks to run the show in NKY next year? Who do you think will be the dominate players returning next year as well?

THE BIRDS............OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

HHS will be very, very strong next year... NCC looks to have another great season as well.

I look for the Dale-Birds to be top dawg with a bunch of teams fighting for the #2 slot.

Dixie will be strong again next season. I expect we will once again win the district and meet the Rocks in the regional final at Rice Mount Joy.

Players for Dixie ..... WR Detmer, WR Gibson, QB Bricking, and RB Maloney on offense. LB Benson, DL Denham, DE Stahlkamp, DL Koski, DL Mcquire, DB Bagley, DB Gibson, and DL Belbot on Defense.

Jared Lucas will be a punt and kick returner and not sure where else.

Plus many more. :thumb:

You also can't really look past Boone either. They've got most of their players returning also. Should be an exciting year in 4A. :thumb:

I have them second in the district. :D

I agree, Dixie will be strong next year. Boone and Holmes also return most all starters as well. I am not sure about the rest of 4A though.

Highlands will be great in 3A

NCC may repeat their state championship run in 1A

Hopefully we bring home more gold in NKY next year.

I wouldn't be crowning Highlands tops in NKY just yet. HHS lost its one "star" player (Guidugli) to graduation this year, and whomever the QB will be in 2006, he will have virtually no varsity playing experience. I suspect that Highlands in 2006 will be similar to HHS in 2005, with respect to how good the team is. In 2005, HHS and CCH were pretty much tied for the best in NKY (with HHS being a little better, given that they beat CCH head-to-head). I bet that 2006 will be very similar.

Also, while it's true that HHS played a lot of underclassmen in 2005, I wonder how much they will improve in one year. Highlands lost in 2005 because they ran into a team that was more physical, faster, and more athletically gifted than they were (LexCath). I wonder how much HHS will actually improve in these three categories next year... but this applies more to statewide competition than it probably does to NKY play.

CCH is 1 for their last 12 vs. HHS. CCH had their best chance to beat the Birds this season than they have had in a long time. I do not see them beating HHS at the nest next year. If the underclassmen were good enough to beat CCH at CCH, they will improve enough to beat CCH at the nest.

Who do you all feel will be the dominate players in NKY on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball?

Ryle returns a lot and it will be a great year for the Raiders! I see nothing but improvement each year.

Highlands will be scary fast and experienced on Defense in 2006 & 2007. Not sure what the offense will bring, but i'm sure Dale will figure something out. It's not like Highlands will be terrible on the offensive side of the ball. Sure nobody knows who the QB will be but i'm sure somebody will step in. I sure hope whoever he decides to play at QB is given the chance to use all of his abilities and not limited to timely gameplans. Highlands has some very strong classes coming up in the next couple of years so it shouldn't be much of a problem for Dale to pick and choose from.

Don't get me started on this year's game, I'll get suspended. CovCath still has a lot of skill position starters returning, and solid players to fill in where they lost people. CovCath, as always, will just re-load, and they have a lot of talent i.e. Bovard, Sutton, Flynn, Bleser, Casteneda, etc.

I think that as always, CCH and HHS will have two of the best programs in NKY. HHS was very young this season, CCH was very deep. Should be another battle.
