2011 Class 2A Preseason Rankings

Featured Replies

Sorry for the prior post. Trying to do it by phone :). However; what I was saying is the facts are that the Dragons lost two linemen and a TE. They DID NOT lose their quarterback. McDermott returns under center along with FB Burton and TB Houchens, of which all accounted for over 1000 yards last season. The Dragons return a total of 17/22 starters off last years team, one that posted 62 pts on Bardstown in the playoffs. The Dragons also return 8/11 starters on defense, a defense that should be as good as it has been in a while. Just can't comprehend how you rank a team that had 3 total wins last year in the Top 10 when you have teams like Green Co and Glasgow who return a large number of contributors. Makes me really question the amount of time in research by those that write here. Oh well, its only preseason rankings.

everybody has a different top 10. I just can't seem to grasp anyone having Bardstown in it during pre-season:lol:. Oh well. we will play the games and they can post their rankings. It's not where you start......

And yes. Big Eye is correct on ALL his stats and roster breakdown!

I did not think Green lost their QB. I am really looking forward to playing Green this year, because, if its anything like last years game it should be a battle till the end. Both teams should be exciting to watch. GOOD LUCK

- Every team mentioned for #10 has issues of some kind, Bardstown included. No matter which team was put there, a good argument could be made against. If 15 teams fit in a "Top 10", it would be easy. ;)

- NewCath at the top did indeed have serious graduation losses, but the '10 Tourney earned them a benefit of the doubt at the top this season.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how this ended up. There's been almost NO criticism of any spots other than #1 and #10.

You are right. Neither team lost their QB. Not sure what I was writing there.

While I'm as shocked as anyone to see B'town in the top 10, for the exact reasons aforementioned, I wouldn't be so quick to poo-pooh the Tigers this year either. They play a much more favorable schedule than in past years -- one that doesn't feature a slew of 5A and 6A teams like the ones that left them a M*A*S*H unit by the time district play rolled around -- and return tons of speed, experience and depth all over the field, especially on the line, which has been a weak point for a few years.

But I agree they are a team that should earn its way into the top 10.
