Crons win a pair today (Saturday) winning their first game 58-48, Brossart's Justin Saunders put up 19 points, and then defeated Rhode Island in the nitecap 58-50 with Saunders netting 20.

 

Do not have any other info, nor do I know where they go from here. Received my info via text message so it was sketchy.

 

We are EXTREMELY proud of Saunders, who led the Mustangs varsity last year in scoring as a sophomore, and are looking for big things from him.

 

Let's just say that we are glad he plays for us!!!!

The KYA All-Stars have had a solid summer and are finishing on a strong note. The KYA team finished second in the pool with back-to-back wins after a 44-43 loss to Texas Pro. Eastern’s Percy Blade had 22 in a win over Atlanta Elite on Thursday. Trinity’s Nathan Dieudonne added 15 and Scott County’s Tamron Manning has been solid. Manning (photo) has been drawing a large crowd of college coaches.

 

• Another solid local team was Next Level Sports, which also finished 2-1 in the pool. Next Level was 2-0 before dropping a 56-49 decision to Wisconsin Playground Elite. Moore’s trio of Mekale McKay, DaQuan Boyd and William Bryant have been solid all week. The Next Level team was without big man Daniel Ross of Jeffersontown this week. He’s already practicing football.

 

• The Ville made a big-time run in the 10th grade AAU Nationals, losing to a very large Team Takeover in the round of 16. Trinity’s Darryl Hicks hit eight three-pointers and had 28 points and Montgomery County’s Omar Prewitt added 22 points in a morning win over the Boo Williams Summer League team. Hicks drew a lot of coaches, including Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin and Dayton coach Archie Miller. The Ville go into the consolation bracket at 12-2 on the trip to Orlando.

I have been impressed with Kellen Jenkins from CovCath this summer. He has good size for a guard and plays hard on both sides of the court. I would be interested to hear why he didn't play more varsity minutes for CovCath last season?

CRONS 16 WIN THE CONSOLATION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!!! This win placed the Crons in 11th place in Division 2 out of 93 teams.
