My wife bought me tickets to the BRAVES vs. reds game on Friday night and we are heading up there around 11am on Thursday. I've been to a bunch of Reds games but never really went through Cincy or Newport. Our hotel is in Newport I believe. We were looking at things to do or places to eat but since most of the posters are from Northern KY I figured I'd ask you guys...

Not sure, Pretty sure Cincy has a lot more variety then Pikeville when it comes to food so I'd be up for Italian, Mexican, steak house, etc. Something different than the same place over and over.

If you want different I'd start off with Terry's Turf Club. You'll need a GPS, but it is only 10-15 minutes from Newport and the burgers are off the chart...

It opens at 4. Get there at 4. Cool little place. Outstanding burger. I would go there before any place at the Levee. Make the drive.

Hit up a few bars downtown while you are at it.

Hofbrahaus is a favorite either before or after the game Friday.

 

Could always check out the Newport Aquarium for something to do. I've only been once, but I enjoyed it.

A neat little place to go for a burger and a couple beers before the game Friday would be Side Bar in Covington. About 3-4 minutes from the Levee. It's a hole in the wall, but the burgers are amazing!

I have to agree that Terri's is the best burger around. However, there are some great places closer. What about Virgils (featured on DDD), or Skinny Legs in Bellevue? There is also a restaurant called the Buona Vita, which I have not been to, but have heard great things about if you like Italian. All the restaurants in that area are local, and right next to Newport. If you are going to Newport on the levee, I would recommend Brio's.

Bueno Vita's pizza is simply outstanding.
