Regarding the Hoosier Shootout, the Crons 16 won their pool. Today they beat Minnesota Select and advanced to the semi-finals. They play on Friday at 12:30 and if they win, they play in the finals at 4:00 p.m.

Go CRONS!!

17U shinning stars are also in this tourney. They have won 2 and lost 1 play again today.

Great break down of day one by J. Demling:

adidas Invitational - day one

http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jodydemling/2011/07/07/adidas-invitational-day-one-2/

• Heard that Bullitt East sophomore and Purdue commitment Derek Willis had a solid second game as the BA Hoyas won both pool play games on the open day in 16s.

• BA Hoyas 17s and the Next Level Sports 17s team both won two games on Wednesday, while the KYA All-Stars split and the Team Southern Indiana Red also split.

• Hanner Perea had what I was told was "the dunk of the summer," a windmill of sorts from outside the lane on the right baseline, in the night game against CBC.

• Lexington Christian’s Taylor Barnette had a good first day. He had 10 in a loss to the Defenders and then had 23 in the first half of the night cap.

Big day for Louisville Magic

http://blogs.courier-journal.com/jodydemling/2011/07/07/big-day-for-louisville-magic/

Ballard’s Quentin Snider and Central’s D’Angelo Russell had sensational games against Meanstreets, while Henry Clay’s Jordan Green and Trey Grundy were both really good in the night game. Trinity’s Craig Owens had a ton of rebounds, while Dixie Heights’ Brandon Hatton has an injured ankle but still was hitting three-pointers.

As of now, the only offers are for Russell (Xavier) and Snider (Tennessee Tech).

17U BA Hoyas beat CAPS Fieldhouse tonight 76-71. This puts them in the final 4 of the Gold division. They play tomorrow morning at 8:00.

Both Bazz and Drummond saw their teams fall in games this morning. It was the first game of tournament play for both, nd sent the headline acts home early. I'm sure that isn't exactly how adidas was looking for things to go.

Louisville Magic beat a very strong New Heights team by 25 tonight. That's a big time W for Ellis and his guys...

The Ville beats Indiana Elite One 16s by 35....Montgomery County's Omar Prewitt 9 of 11 on threes

In this game D'Angelo Russell had 22, Quentin Snider 18.

I watched that New Heights team quite a bit this week and beating them by 25 is VERY impressive. The Magic are rolling in this event...

Saw this on J. Demlings page:

• There were 10 technical fouls in a 17s game pitting Eric Gordon Central Stars and Houston Defenders. And no there were no fights

The Ts have been HORRIBLE all week...

The title game is supposed to be on scout.com

I love the Louisville Magic. Awesome squad.

I think it will be on CBS College Sports channel also.

Must have been something in the water in Indy as I saw more T's at the Hoosier Shootout and the Adidas event than I can remember in any events I have attended.

Blame, if needed, probably needs to lie at the feet of the evaluators. The refs actually pay to work a camp like this and they are being evaluated by college and/or NBA officials. Human nature says you're there to impress those guys more than you are trying to impress the coaches/players/fans that have no impact on your aspiring career. You are hoping that someone likes your "game" enough that they ask you to work their conference. So you get this unfortunately. It's not excuse. Just an explanation.
