The obsession with Sarah Palin from those on the left is something I'll never grasp. No one has yet to provide a legit reason behind their constant need for her to be talked about to no end.

My "obsession" stems back to when McCain picked her as a running mate to pander to the female voter. I felt he completely and utterly picked her without regard to the intelligence of the female voter, thinking that he'd garner our vote for the simple reason he'd added her to the ticket. Of course, he also made sure she was appealing enough to the male voter to garner those votes as well. Ms. Palin had an incredible opportunity to present herself as an electable female vice-presidential candidate. She completely squandered that opportunity by being obstinate to the advice of the McCain-Palin advisors, and of McCain. Since then, she's done nothing at all to rectify the mistakes of that campaign, instead trying to somehow capitalize on them by painting herself as a victim.

Paris Hilton.

Okay, and that was what almost 4 years ago? If people would just stop making a huge deal out of everything she does/says, she would eventually fade away.

Obsession from the left or the right? I am more amazed by the admiration/attention my friends on the right have for her than anything I see from the left. She is comedy relief for those on the left. And she isn't going to fade because she is all about being in the spotlight. It is how she pays the bills now.

Yes, without question from the left. I know very very few people that are not conservative (I guess it's just the way it is in NKY), and none care one iota about Ms. Palin. Many, myself included, would vote for President Obama over her for the POTUS if it were to come to that. So again, I ask, why all the obsession from the left?

I have made it my personal mission to make sure she is not the first female to become President. There are many more qualified candidates that I would support (not necessarily vote for), including Republicans.

I think the ones on the right you're talking about like her because she drives those on the left bonkers. Similar to UKMF, I know a lot of conservatives and only one told me they would vote for her. He has yet to give me a good reason why, but for some reason he likes her. Most feel like I do, they would vote for their dog first.

I couldn't vote for either, I'd have to go with someone else. She's not what I want in a president and neither is he. Neither one of them have the leadership qualities I want in a president.

I would agree that they wouldn't vote for her, but they like her. I think it is more about her conservative message than anything they really like about her per se.

Could be true for some. Most I know don't listen to her long enough to hear her message. I know I don't. I agree, it's odd how she does seem to have some weird hold on some people. I don't get what they're fascinated with, I mean, she's not hard to look at, but other than that....

Obviously, if she said Revere was warning the British that was merely a case of misspeaking.

I'd say it's beyond a reach to declare it a 2nd Amendment case considering it was roughly a decade before our 2nd Amendment was written...correct? :D Or am I mistaken on this?

But, it was my understanding that the British were marching out to seize munitions stockpiles from the rebel colonists. So, I believe she got that correct.

As much as conservatives bemoan her she has a paid platform at Fox News, there were several polls of the Republican primary taken this week that placed her in the lead or trailing only Romney, and she certainly appears to be planning to run in that primary or as a third party candidate. I think she is far less of a fringe player than many are willing to admit. I'm not sure why she shouldn't be taken seriously or why she shouldn't be challenged.

I also don't think she is stupid, which makes her dangerous in my estimation. I think she lacks knowledge, curiosity, and reasonableness, which makes her easy to "refudiate." But I think she is manipulative and deceptive. She has troves of people wrapped around her finger and has been able to keep relevant despite her absurdity.

I do think there is a vicious cycle with her and the media. I think a lot of her popularity is the result of the coverage she gets, but at the same time a lot of the coverage she gets is due to her popularity. After her "blood libel" speech she seemed to fall off the map. Her big speech in Wisconsin over the union protests was almost wholly ignored by the media, much to her chagrin. Immediately afterward she embarks on this bus tour and the media has taken the bait again. I wish the media would just ignore her, though.

How accurate are the early polls? Where did Obama poll 4 years ago at this time? I don't take her seriously as a candidate at all. The thing she has going for her in the primaries is not enough people vote. She has a better chance (I still think it's very slim) in a few primaries, but she has 0 chance of becoming President.
