June 1, 201115 yr Anyone read this book? Good read so far. Gives some different explanations/stories than the book that the Facebook movie was based upon. The guy that founded PayPay (and solid it for $1.5B) got 10% of the company with a $500k investment. He sold half of his stock a while back and the remaining stock is still worth hundreds of millions. Also interesting to me is that the status update feature came directly from the AOL IM "away message" feature.

They wanted to switch to just Facebook but the URL http://www.facebook.com was owned by another company. Zuckerberg offered them stock in the company but the seller said no "straight cash, homey" (I made that part up) and settled for $200k. I wonder how much that stock would be worth today.

June 7, 201115 yr twitter>facebook I would agree if there was around a 250 character limit on twitter. I hate having to send multiple tweets to make a point. I like on Facebook that a status can spark a conversation that all of your friends can see and chime in on in an organized fashion. That's not possible on twitter. I love both though. I also hate seeing celebs/athletes RT stuff instead of saying something. I do enjoy some of the banter I have had with some celebs/athletes though. That is pretty cool.
June 7, 201115 yr So I am gathering the book is different than the movie. Which is better? I knew I would like the movie but came away liking the movie more than I expected. I'll probably try to find the book soon.I found myself looking to hate Zuckerberg but came away completely on his side.
