I'm not a Lakers fan but I really think Shaw is about the best option at this point. He could have been somebody to step in and keep things going pretty much the same way they had been going. Someone who could be there for the next 10 years. BUT, looks like they are going to try and stick it to Phil every way they can.

May 25, 201115 yr Even if Kobe wins with Mike Brown, it shouldn't be compared to Lebron's seasons under Brown. 1. Kobe is a veteran playing with Brown, Lebron was still just getting started. 2. Kobe still has more talent on the Lakers than Lebron had with the Cavs.

Talent isn't all that matters when it comes to winning a championship, but for the past two seasons a lot of the powers were in the West, and not in the East. With the Heat, you had 3 superstars who were trying to adjust, the first of the season was bumpy, then they went on a great run then struggled late. Lebron with the Cavs he was the star and took the shots he had too. Plus the league is more balanced this year, even with the super teams. Better players on teams, Knicks were a little better, Grizz were better, Bulls, etc.

May 25, 201115 yr Is that a good thing really? Three straight finals appearances until this season, looked pretty good to me. But what I'm saying really is it would have brought a lot of stability. It would have been a very smooth transition from the zen master. Scott's been around, he's not a new face coming in and changing everything.

May 25, 201115 yr Yikes. I think Brown is a bad hire. I don't think he can deal with the personalities on the Lakers. He let LeBron do whatever he wanted, and he never really could get anyone else in the right state of mind during the playoffs. And he had better hope they can keep Shaw on board, they will desperately need someone to run their offense for them. Brown's with Cleveland was, swing it around the horn and then let LBJ isolate 1 on 5. So much of coaching in the playoffs is mental, and I don't think Brown has mastered that part of the game. He is an outstanding defensive coach though.
May 25, 201115 yr I don't want to like this hire and one year from now I am almost certain I won't like the hire. I didn't like when the Buccaneers hired Raheem Morris at first but I love the hire now so I guess I will try to proceed with an open mind. I am going to steal Big Slick's post and put it on Facebook. That is a good one.
