That was the exact reaction I had when I received the news.....It is a very nice win! I heard that Brooke Hollinsworth drove in the winning run in the 6th inning to win the game. On a sour note, she is on her way to after hours urgent care to treat a game related injury. The only thing I know is that she has some numbness in her fingers from a throw she made midway through the game. Will update when I find out more!

A real surprise here IMO, great when for Highlands.

 

Half the 9th region tourney is going to look something like Highlands, Newport, Notre Dame and Holmes. Don't think any of these teams are in the top 10 in the area.

Congrats to Highlands on a big victory, they made the plays when they had too and deserved to win. However, the lack of timely hitting has been the Breds downfall all season and that goes for tonight. 2nd inning bases loaded 1 out and no runs, 4th inning bases loaded NO outs and no runs. It's a shame NewCath pitcher Danielle Hausfeld's career ends under these circumstances, all season long she has deserved a better fate. Her dedication to the game and the craft of pitching is going to be sorely missed "up on the hill".

Congrats LadyBirds. Getting it done when it counts. Hey Clyde, will pass along the "congrats" when I see him. Not scheduled to see him until Friday morning's "Mafia" meeting.

I beleive the Dawg called this game about a week ago. I seen highlands play some good teams down the stretch close. They may not of won those games but by playing the better teams late helped them prepare for the games that count. ( District & Regional ) the regular season wins means nothing .
