The boys have worked extremely hard this Winter and Spring. Coach Maynard has given them time off until July 11th. Enjoy your break, football will be expected to stretch into December........just sayin'.
That is always the expectations in Raceland. :thumb:

You're right, the Lambs have worked extremely hard and have been preparing for a long time. The only thing they haven't been able to do in the off season is gain playing experience. I hope they show up on the 11th ready to gain that much needed experience.

If you're not ready to dedicate and work, don't show up.

:thumb: :thumb: Yep, you're either all in or all out.

I know some of the "Young Rams" said forget the Dead Period and are working out on their own. Great to see from a young team.

Sign of determination and maturity. Also, it tells me they want it pretty bad. I am excited.

Prayers for Bret Denton, standout running back from the 2008 team. He has been battling a sudden illness and needs our prayers.

Amen Doc, I know all too well what the young man is going through . May GOD give Bret comfort and keep him strong both physically and mentally, in Jesus name. Amen.

I have a good feeling about it. Prayer also go out for his family, a great family and a strong Christian family.

Bret is doing much better and is home now. I hope all remains well with him.

Spoke to Bret recently and he is upbeat and very positive about the situation.

:thumb: Doc, please tell Bret and his Dad and Mom that they are more than welcome to come and visit and talk to me about it. I would really love to talk to them. Also, tell him that my prayers are with him.

Raceland had several players do really well at the Tri-State Rehab Combine in Ironton Ohio today. Awards were given for the top two in each class as well at the best overall performer.

Brian Caudill got first place in the Senior Class as well as received the Best Overall Performer.

Austin Manis got second in the Sophomore Class.

Nevan Johnson got third in the Sophomore Class.

Sophomore Brad Boyles and Juniors Brandon Boyles and Logan Caldwell also did very well and had good performances.

Caudill seems like he would do really well in this type of event. It's also good to see the other ones doing well. I do not know the Manis kid or Brad, but I know Nevan and had Brandon and Logan in class. Pretty good results for the Rams, how many teams were there?

It was an open event, not really whole teams. There were a lot of kids from Ironton and the surrounding areas and a few from Greenup County and one from Russell. But, mostly southern Ohio players. Raceland had a really good showing at the event though. I was surprised at how we competed against the field.

Manis is a good sized kid, he and Johnson are good friends. Johnson measured in at 6'3 1/2" barefooted and 263 lbs. Manis measured 6'1 1/2" barefooted and 260 lbs. Both good sized kids.

Brad Boyels and Brandon Boyles are brothers. Brad hasn't played football for a few years and getting back in it this season.
