Anybody know who #15 was on the KYA All Stars?

Jay Johnson of Woodford Co. He is a player. Very impressed with him. I had been hearing of him all last season and finally got to see him play.

Thanks. I was equally impressed with him today. Just a pure athlete and a gamer.

I agree. Think his name should be up there for Mr. Basketball next year.

Burned out and only a freshman!

I can totally see this. Aau ball is very time consuming. However lets hope the girlfriend story isnt true at his age. He's got his whole life to get run by a woman. Lol

He also plays QB on the football team.

No I believe he played WR for WC this past season. Football is clearly not his sport. They got owned by Highlands in the playoffs. He got outworked twice by Carter New and Ty Siedl on picks. He didn't seem very aggressive in football. I did hear he is an awesome basketball player though. Best of luck to him.

Thoughts and observations......

Based on what I saw I think Tamron Manning, Jay Johnson and Makale McCoy will be in the running for Mr. Basketball next year. I have seen Manning and Johnson play on several occasions throughout their high school careers and they improve everytime I see them and are fun to watch.

This was my first time watching McCoy play. He had his worst game in the finals against KYA and that was the difference in the game. It was part defense from KYA and part bad shooting night. He got some good looks just couldn't knock them down. He is a great player and I expect to hear from him throughout the summer and next year also. Glad I got to see him play.

McCoy got the ball on the baseline and was going in hard for the slam and Johnson came out of nowhere and blocked the dunk. Johnson hit the ball so hard it sounded like someone spiked a volleyball. Very impressive block on what would have been the dunk of the weekend.

#24 for Next Level was a tremendous point guard. Hit big shots all weekend.

Brandon Hatton can straight fill it up. I like that kid.

Jaylen Beckham had a better Saturday than Sunday but he is still fun to watch. Hoop Dreams was no match for KYA.

Trinity will be disgusting next year but nothing is guaranteed in Louisville basketball. I hope Trinity is still on the Boyle County schedule so I can for sure see them play in person.

I want the Louisville Magic's 15U roster if anyone has it or can tell me where I can get it I will be your best friend. Those kids are really fun to watch and I would love to see the team that can match up against them. I know who Queinton Snider is, but I don't know who the rest of them were. They are all long armed and as collectively athletic a team that I have seen. I'd love to know their names so I can follow them all. They all seem to have bright bright futures if they keep working hard. Very impressive team that was a joy to watch.

I am glad I found Marcellious Washington again. I hope he continues to improve. His team was eliminated in pool play on an inbounds alley oop pass at the buzzer after he tied the game at 54 on a 25 foot 3 pointer.

The Ville(16U) was another fun team to watch. With Hicks and Prewitt together they were just too tough this weekend. Great combo and they are complemented well by the rest of their team. That team was put together well.

Very well ran tourney. I enjoyed my weekend thoroughly and I am looking forward to Indianapolis in July.

I met Goldie, SportsGuy and Hoopology this weekend. It's is always good to put a face with the name and I am glad I met you all and I am sure we'll cross paths again.

Jay never has played QB for the football team

Louisville Magic 15U Roster (from Demling blog):

Trey Grundy, Henry Clay; Jordan Green, Henry Clay; Craig Owens, Trinity; D’Angelo Russell, Central; Quentin Snider, Ballard; Chris McCraw, Western; Christian Cunningham, Scott County.

He also plays QB on the football team.

Inaccurate post. He was a receiver.

I agree with Purple pride that the tournament was run well this weekend. I am normally disappointed at the KBA, but not this weekend. Only thing we ran into was a book keeping error. At the end of a game there was a question on the scoreboard and the book was about 10 points off!! The fact that they had high school refs and that they were being evaluated made it very nice. The refs enjoyed it too as it game them a nice warm up for the upcoming season. Good luck to all the teams that made it to the Nationals.

Jeez, how many people does it take to correct a post? one isn't enough?

I was told football, and QB. BUT the fact is, and the important part is he also plays football.

I too think he will be in the running for Mr. Basketball.

Nice to meet you as well. :thumb:

Congratulations to the CRONS 16s! Coach Mike Hester did a great job in coaching his team to the FINAL FOUR before falling to The Ville. Making it to the Final Four qualifies the CRONS to participate in the Nationals in Orlando in July.

Players (Front Row): Justin Saunders, Riley Barnes, Chad Lucas, Zach Ripy, Kellen Jenkins, Sawyer Pauly (Back Row) Nick Ayers, Drew Shelton, Drew Reckner, Missing Bryan Woods

Coaches: Mike Hester, Mike Beebe, Tony Cooke

Could you list the high school for each of the players? Thanks.
