Lakers is place to get a first round bye pretty much. New Orleans just lost David West for the rest of the year.

Kronke and the Nuggets have to be loving life right now. They had a good team around Melo in Denver, and as good of a player as Carmelo Anthony is, he is not the guy that's going to make everyone else better, or even make your team that much better. The Nuggets were almost portrayed as a victim for a while as far as what they received in return, but with what they added they are set to be a contending team for years to come. Denver kept asking for more, more, and then more from New York and acted as if they wouldn't do the deal without getting in return all of those guys. After the dust has settled it was a marvelous coo for the Nuggets to come away with Gallinari, Chandler, Felton, and Mosgov. Right now they are actually one of the deepest teams in the league, Birdman even went for 17 tonight. Not saying that things won't eventually get going in New York, especially if they add another piece or two, but The Nuggets def came away with a nice pull in a scenario in which all they could have won was salary cap space.

^ I'm not sure how well it is going to work out in NY but of course if they get Chris Paul or something like that it will make things a lot easier. Melo and Amare aren't loving each other to much right now. Amare loves the up and day throw it around style and they have changed that slightly since Melo go there and he isn't happy about it and you see Melo obviously isn't happy either.

No a legit star. Melo is another TMac along with Kevin Durant. Guys that score and do nothing else wouldn't help this team. Heck even someone that isn't a real star yet like Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge or Love would make them alot better.

And that's it. I'm taking the Heat and Lakers in the Finals. I don't see anyone beating LA in the West, and the Celtics have struggled without Perk so I think James and Wade beat them. Sure the Heat haven't beat Chi-town this year, but I still believe we haven't seen LBJ and Wade really go at after it for a full game consistently all season. If Bosh brings his manhood with him, I think the Heat will win the East.

I can't decide what to think about the Celtics. They have looked poor as of late, but they pulled this same stunt last year, finishing 27-27 to end the year.

Shaq could be big for them if he's healthy and in shape. I think Wade and James are just going to be too much for them in a series anyway. Those two have really started playing well together, since they've started playing James as more of a Power Forward and making him the screen guy with Wade in the pick and roll. There is no answer for LeBron when he's at the four. If the role guys are making anything, the Big 2's pick and roll is nearly unstoppable IMO. Few are better at getting to the basket than Wade, LBJ is a terror on the roll, Bosh has played well off of it finding seems to get to the basket.

 

Since LBJ gave up alot of his ballhandling duties, they've really changed IMO.

I agree :thumb:. I can't see him rounding into shape, but he did do an excellent job last season when he got hurt. He came back about 25 pounds lighter than he was when he was healthy. Still, I think the Perkins trade killed them. Set them up to be players for Dwight Howard and others, but still.

Keep dreaming. I see no way that it will be possible with the new CBA, no matter what it is. I could see the Lakers having to lose assets as is next year as they are the team most over the cap. I could see them having to give away Odom. I guess they could sign and trade with Gasol but would the Magic really prefer that for the future over the possibilities of someone like Brook Lopez if a sign and trade had to happen. How many years does Gasol have left at a high level?

It won't be next year it will be as a free agent.
