At this point a win is a win and you advance on.

Proud of our Lady Mustangs tonight, who had every license to take a beating from the defending 10th Region Champs, who came into the game with a 14-0 record againt 10th Region competition.

I thought that our Lady Stangs out-executed the Cards, especially during the first half, whereas the Cards depended upon their size, girth, and perimeter shooting to get them by.

The second half pressure exerted by the senior laden Cards took its toll, allowing the bigger, stronger, and tonight deeper Lady Cards who make a habit of winning these things to draw off and win the game.

Brossart took 4 charges, which speaks volumes for the defensive effort of the Lady Stangs. Three were legit and the one in the backcourt was a gift that should have been called a block.

 

While the Lady Stangs bow out of the 2011 10th Region Tournament, I think they made a favorable impression on both the Cards and the neutral fans in attendance.

They will be back, and for the next few years when they come to play in the 10th Region Tournament it will be to stay for awhile and eventually cut down the nets.

This team is very young so I don't think so.

Would you rather they said one and done? Just being positive, if you don't think you can win you won't.

Mustang is normally more reserved than that statement. The team has a very bright future and I do expect them to get out of the district the next 3 years. But cutting down the nets in the 10TH is quite an accomplishment.
