Still don't understand the "T" on WAKA after his dunk in the 4th. It just seemed to me, that the Stripe was more upset with the dunk with the lead CovCath had, than what I saw Drew do with the dunk!

Come on Old Guy, no ref is going to T a player up for dunking with a lead. If the dunk is the picture above, it looks like Baker is yelling. Maybe it was a taunting type T? I have no idea, but I find it very difficult to believe that any ref would T a kid up for dunking...especially in a district game.

Big win for the Colonels & congrats on advancing to the District Finals (and region).

 

Can't help but think back to Clyde's comment about how the Holy Cross players told him they'd take care of business against the Colonels...

Will be interesting to hear the CCC radio station announcers talk about the upside of the Holmes Bulldogs after their win againest CCC. Thelen will be denied.

CC never heard him said a word other than just a scream of happiness and I wasn't as the picture shows, all that far from the play.

I agree he is the wild card on this team. He has really picked his game up of late. Baker Thelen, and Connelly can't do it alone. The real key to this team winning the 9th is their guard play.

Nice win for Coach L and the Colonels. Nice to see Baker keep his steady contribution going. I think he is the wildcard for CCH. They will be counting on you big fella, so keep it rollin.

Agree on both counts. The traveling call on Arlinghaus to take the 3 off the board was huge. The Indians were on a run. That 3 would have tightened things up considerably. Baker was lights out tonight. Connelley and Schult bring alot of grit to the Colonels. Holy Cross played smothering defense. Their press was A+++. The game started with Cov. Cath. committing 5 turnovers in their first 5 possessions. Holy Cross was only able to take a 4-0 lead. Cov. Cath. scored the next 10 points. One last shout out to Reidenger. His 3's were huge.

I what to acknowledge the CovCath JV players or "The Red Raiders" as they were called all weekend long. These young men worked their tails off in practice and pushed the varsity players to no end during those practices.

 

While the Varsity had a great game tonight vs. Holy Cross, it was those CovCath JV players that deserve some love thrown their way.

 

Thanks gentlemen, you had a huge and important part in the victory tonight!

I didnt think the dunk was that big of a deal. But the ref did, he didnt even hesitate, bang bang. I was in the neighborhood and just thought I would stop in and see this matchup and it was a nice game. CC had too much depth for HC and wore them out in the end. I was also interested in seeing how dominating the Thelen kid is and left very dissapointed. The Woko kid was the star. I just thought Thelen was alot more phyisical then he really is, he picked up his 2nd foul for the game with 5 mins to play in the game. Not very agressive to say the least for his size. IDK, maybe an off night.

Not sure about Thelen's final stats, but Holy Cross started packing the defense around him in the 2nd half. This opened things up considerably for Baker. The Colonels took what was there.

^^Not impressed? He only had a double, double on the night and his running mates scored 22 and 14 while HC tried their best to stop him! As Flotsam stated, you take what you are given!

The T was given to Baker for pulling himself up by the rim.
