I love watching Trevan Brown play, he does such a good job once he gets the ball. Boone was out-rebounding the Colonels for most of the night, seemed like as soon as Boone would cut it down to two or tie it they would force a couple of turnovers and score in transition. The more I watch this Dixie team the more I like them. Making the region out of their district is a no brainer, good luck to them in the Region.

Shout out to Coach Chevalier as well as Coach McQueary for doing the right thing tonight. The Armbruster kid from Dixie has struggled with injury for a couple of years which has limited his participation. Both coaches and the officials agreed to let Dixie sub in Armbruster if one of the Dixie guards went to the line. Very nice gesture, gentlemen.

 

Total class by both coaches and programs. Nice job fellas.

Crazy to see a game where both Hatton nor McQuery had any threes. Both these boys can really light it up from the outside.

It was an off night for Hatton and I say that knowing he had 17. His shot didn't seem to be there. His best move was the baseline runner.

I don't think Hatton had an off night, it's just harder to shoot over a long armed defense. Hatton did a great job of penetrating to the elbow, getting through the lane and made some nice short jumpers. This was said to be one of Dixie's best games yet as a team effort, and if that's true, the region is wide open for a clear cut favorite. Pitts for the Rebels held his job down pretty well for most of the night, had a few costly mistakes in the second half, but he showed he can play when needed. Another player from the JV squad had good minutes to pick up the slack from missing players like Downs, Fookes, and Burgess, and of course Montgomery. The best part of the night was watching the football game between Brown and Pike down low. Trevan had 3 or 4 of his signature and 1 plays deleted because one ref kept calling the foul on the floor instead of a shooting foul, not a game changing call, but it does affect momentum. Districts and regional games will be a blast with no home court advantage.

Agreed Pitts had a good game with a few mistakes and to be honest no more than the typical point guard has in a game. I would like him to be slightly more aggressive on Offense but maybe coach didn't want that. Keenan Palmer was the other JV player that got some minutes and he held his own as well.
