Breds travel to Covington Thurs night for a DII matchup.

 

Newcath comes in 17-6 after a 20 point loss to Desales in the All A.

 

Holmes comes in 17-8 after losing to Boone 72-65.

 

Newcath won on December 29th at Lloyd 55-53 in the LMIT semi's.

This is going to be a very good game.

 

Newcath is going to come in fired up after the big loss to Desales and Holmes is still upset about the loss to Newcath earlier in the season, in which they blew a 5 point lead with a little over a minute to play.

 

It will come down to one thing though. Holmes MUST attack the rim and try to draw fouls. By sitting around out on the arc they are taking away their strength which is quickness and athleticism. Outside of Hightchew, nobody else for the Breds is quick enough to check the Holmes guards. Newcath sat back in a zone in the first game and it was a great game plan by Brannen, as Holmes continually settled for 3's.

 

Dontel Rice must stay on the floor. He sat a lot against Newcath in the first go around and Geisler had his way down low at both ends of the floor.

 

Holmes' depth is much improved since the first match up between these two, so I'm going to take the Dogs at home.

On a side note, it also wouldn't surprise me to see Newcath win by around 10.
