Anyone know how to find out which players were selected for NKMSBAA All Tournament Team---from all the boys and girls teams and all the grades?

I would think they will have the final list for all levels at the end of the day tomorrow at the announcer's table. Or try e-mail to Jason Steffen ([email protected])

Holmes wins 8th grade boys championship. Not sure of final but they led 31-22 at the half.

The future is bright in Covington. A lot of talent coming up.

Congratulations to Holmes! Lots of talent let by a passionate and determined coach. Love those guys---Kenny, Beetle, and Jason. Did Kenny play? I heard he may have been injured?

Also want to give some kudos to Tichenor. They are a tough group of kids led by a solid coach. I am glad that they made it to the finals. They worked hard and made some big wins to get there!

Looking forward to seeing many of these faces next year in high school!

Dont know about the other grades but in the 6th grade the all tourny team was a mystery. After the first round of district they game all tourny to one player on each losing team but gave nothing to the winner and runner-up team the next night. In the regional they didn't give anything out the first night to either loser (Highlands or Ockerman) but in the final four games they gave one to Tichnor but nothing to SV after their loss. They did pick five from the finals.

Brett Mayberry (point guard) got all tournament team for the Ockerman 8th grade boys and Alex Brownell got it for the Gray 8th grade boys.

Gray boys defeated Ockerman 66-53 to win the 7th Grade Title. This game was a low scoring affair in the first half but turned into a shoot out in the second. After a back and forth quarter and a half Gray put on a late spurt to lead 20-13 at the half.

Thr second half Ockerman came out in a full court man-to-man press and the game took on a completely new tenor. Thad Moss became Gray's press breaker and simply dominated the quarter. Held to just two points at the half and obviously a bit frustrated, Moss took the ball around and over the Ockerman press and to the hole. He had 15 points in the 3rd quarter as both teams exceeded their first half totals in the quarter (Gray 22, Ockerman 15}.

Gray led 42 - 28 and that 3rd quarter explosion essentially ended the game. Ockerman made a couple of runs, led by some excellent outside shooting by Bo Downs, but continued to not be able to stop Moss from breaking their press, generally sending him to the line. Moss added 6 of 8 free throws in the 4th to capture game high honors with 23 points.

The Holmes 8th grade coach was watching the game and commented that Moss was "one big point guard!" And it did look a bit strange to see a 5-11 1/2, 222 pound 12-year old taking the ball up the floor, sometimes taking the ball behind his back and through his legs!

Great Job by Thad Moss to carry Gray's victory on his shoulders. All the success of that team has ran through Thad Moss this year whether he's scoring or not. His assists, breaking the press, rebounding and outlets and scoring; everything runs through Moss. sounds like someone else I know....Big Sis!!!

It was nice to see Downs and Diaw try to fight back and win the game for Ockerman, but too little , too late.

Moss, Downs and Diaw all play on the same AAU team. It should be a good combination.

Congrats Gators.
