I just heard last night that Campbell County assistant and former Bellevue great Doug Miller is seriously considering the Bellevue job. He had even talked to Nick Wilson about the position and even transferring his son into the Bellevue school system.

Will they hire a non teacher?

I don't remember him. Maybe a bone could be thrown my way?

 

Doug played at Bellevue in the late 70's and early 80's in Baseball, basketball, and football. I believe that he is in their hall of fame. Probably scored 1000 points in basketball and was a tailback on the football team. Now that I think about it, he followed Mike Sutkamp; so, he may not have played in the 70's. Maybe just early 80's. Either way, he was an exceptional athlete at Bellevue during his time.

I'd like to see Doug get the Bellevue job. In the world we live in, hiring a non-teacher has brought a lot of good coaches to high school sports. Bryson Warner (Ryle) isn't a teacher and he's done a fine job. However, he does have assistants in the building during the day, which I'm sure Bellevue does/will have as well.

Miller would be a great choice and would bring back some of that Tiger Pride and tradition. He was ano outstanding player at Bellevue graduating in 1983. A very good guard in hoops who shot lightsout, tough tailback and smooth shortstop in baseball. I would rank him in the top 5 best 3 sport stars at Bellevue all time. Superintendent Wayne Starnes coached him back in those days and he played with current board member Danny Swope. ID say if Eckstein isn't a lock then he's the guy you go after.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'throw a bone his way'; but, if it is in reference to inexperience and not being qualified, I disagree. He has been a coach at Campbel for many years and is a 'football guy'. He seems to know the game.

I hear Highlands has several Bellevue grads on the sidelines that have spent the last few years honing their craft under the tutelage of Dale Mueller. Maybe its time for one of those guys to step out of thier comfort zone and head back to their alma mater.

Which Bellevue guys are out at Highlands? The only ones that I know of are Ryan Leopold and Neil Hollingsworth......I just hope for Bellevue's sake that neither one of these guys are hired for the position. If they would be Bellevue football would take so many steps backwards it would be ridiculous for them.

Wayne Hall and I'm pretty sure Swope is a Bellevue guy as well.

No clue why that's funny. I know he works with the FTJFL and is a great neighbor.

Lets get one thing straight real quick Dale is much smarter then you and would never hire a guy like Hollingsworth mainly cause he cant spell. But when it comes to football he may have forgotten more then you would ever know. When he took over the ftjrfl they had @280kids last year they had some were around 380. And i am sure you dont know him or the young Leopold kid so who or what gives you the right to talk about them. Like i told you a few times before people who live in glass houses should throw stones cause a clown from BB making comments like you did doesnt carry much water.

That Neil guy is a clown and and most people dont like him but thats ok he isnt in it for fame what he does is for the kids.

Well I would say Neil is not a clown...................I cannot speak to his ability to coach football but he has done some good things with the junior football league and he works well with little kids in baseball. now that does not make him a candidate to be the head coach at Bellevue but again I really do not know his background well enough to know what he is capable of. Again I ask what is Ryan leopold's background and what does he do on Dale's staff.

Ryan has worked with the Freshman team in the past and starting next year will be working with the big birds. He also helps with the track team.

Neil has no real time to coach at a highschool level now nor is he evn qualified to do so.
