Thanks for the info! As we have seen in the past I hope Bellevue does not wait and drag their feet to make a hire. I can guarantee there will be plenty of "upper level input" before this hire is made.

This thread is cracking me up. How did Neil Hollingsworth's name even get mentioned in the coaching circle? Ryan Leopold doesnt have enough experience yet to take over as head coach. Wayne Hall and Ryan Swope are both assistants for Highlands and to be honest they probably dont have the qualifications yet to take over. There are plenty of qualified applicants out there who could take this job and get Bellevue back on track. IMO they need someone with some Bellevue roots who can get the tradition back and Doug Miller would be a good choice to do this.

Well...........I am not sure who these many people are..................Yes their are people who could take the job but they have to want to and chances are they want a teaching position with it. Not sure what openings Bellevue has.

I have heard that they have some very qualified applicants and it includes current HC's in the area. I think this could drag out until Spring though based on the teaching position needing to be filled and the school dealing with their budget. Just what I have heard.

I can't thnk of any current head coach that would leave where they are because they think Bellevue would be a better option. Do tell.....

I was thinking the same thing......................................I mean maybe the head coach at Bracken (sorry no offense meant to the Polar Bears) would consider this a step up other wise for any local coach such as a Ludlow (just using them as an example) it would be a lateral move at best and based on the administration dealings that have been discussed I doubt that it makes it a "glamor" job for current head coaches.

Because he was an assistant there and it is his first head coaches job. Qryche11 is stating that current local head coach (es) have a high interest and have applied. And as Govnah stated do tell who those guys are...........................

I'm not sure I agree with Hall and Swope not being qualified to become a head coach though. They are both outstanding coaches that have coached on both sides of the ball. No head coaching experience, but every head coach had to get his first job as a head coach at some point in time.

 

Having said that, I hope they both stay at Highlands. Great coaches that are highly appreciated by parents and supporters for the commitment and sacrifices they make for the players and the program. One of the many reasons for Highlands success is the longevity of the coaching staff. Mueller, Weinrich, Turner, Hall, Swope, Jones and Meadows have been together for a long time.

Hall and Swope could be good candidates but my point was they likely wouldnt be as qualified as the current applicants. Ryan and Wayne are great coaches and the Highlands kids have definitely benefitted. As a former Tiger Id be tickled to see one or the other apply and get it. Those two will always have the Tiger blood flowing through their veins.

Ok now this is just ridicules! They fired the coach before the Christmas break. i guess they plan on never winning again in Bellevue. With a weight program that is nonexistent or being run by a guy who was an asst last year and was let go it is just a shame. Being a Bellevue guy who has played there and coached there its time for them to step up and take care of business. Give Echstine(spelling sorry) the job already and let him get bussy. Spring practice for them can start real soon and with out a coach that cant happen. I dont know coach Echstine personally but i hear he is a nice guy who can do a good job. Lets get things going and move forward. Good luck Tigers and lets get this done already.
