January 18, 201115 yr Some in this thread seem to think schools should be funded with taxes from their own area. They think that they would be better off. I say fine if they really want it that way we can do it, and the "have and have not" groups wouldn't be who you think.

I think what some are saying is that all the schools should receive the same state money. Again, since their is a tax on coal, you think that money should only go to counties who mine coal? I guess cigarette smokers should be the only ones who get the tax revenue from the tax they pay?

I think the property tax revenue which goes to the educational system is what they're referring to since that is it's purpose. However, in your plan are you going to include ALL taxes? Property, individual income, corporate? Where do you think the have and have not groups would be? How finite would you limit it? Region? County? City?
January 18, 201115 yr Is that BC's policy, to build a new school if one goes over 1,000 students? If so then they have created their own money problems. Can someone from Boone Co answer this question? Is this their policy?
January 18, 201115 yr Can someone from Boone Co answer this question? Is this their policy? Don't know for sure, but I am sure many of the schools currently have in excess of 1K students and there are no schools under construction at this time. That number seems low. A big part of the problem is the uncontrolled growth in the county.
