Six weeks in, who is overachieving/ underachieving? Biggest surprises? Biggest dissappointments?

 

A big suprise to me is Henry Clay, didn't think they would be this competitive this year. Also Western is a suprise team and now ranked.

 

Your thoughts.

In NKY a team that is underachieving would be Conner.

Considering Holmes was ranked 6th in the preseason in the 9th region, I would consider them overachieving. Obviously Mason County is underachieving in the 10th Region thus far.

Try preseason ranked in both polls fourth with a total of three first place votes in each preseason poll and since they are currently ranked fourth at the moment, I think they have achieved about what everybody thought they would!

I was impressed with Henry Clay in the game with GRC and they have racked up some other nice wins. Did not see that happening.

I'm far from a Holmes fan. But, I was basing them being ranked sixth in The Cats Pause Preview.

Losing to Madison Central, only beating Campbell County by 2, etc.. Make no mistake, I think once Pawsat returns, and once March rolls around, Mason County will be right where we thought they were in the preseason. But it's obvious they're not there yet.

After starting the season 0-4 they have now won 8 of their last 10. The freshman starting at guard is now playing like an upper classmen.

Lloyd seems to be achieving far better than I had expected them to. I didn't see it comin' that they would beat underachievers Conner in the Lloyd Invitational or give Holy Cross such a close game. With St. Henry struggling in the the 34th, it's probably not a stretch now to see the Juggs in the 9th Region tourney this year, and who knows, by post season, could prove to be a formidable opponent for whoever faces them in the event they get there. It's been quite awhile, it seems, since Lloyd has worked their way into the discussion.

Will Pawsat return? I haven't heard an update on him in a while, anyone know? Seems like Mason Co. misses his presence on the court, hope the best for his recovery, hate to see a young man injured and unable to play.
