January 7, 201115 yr To me this just shows that all along he just wanted to be a career politician. As soon as he lost the senate race he decided to cut and run from Kentucky. Glad the state didn't elect him again.
January 7, 201115 yr I don't know. I don't think you can fault him for taking a teaching job at Harvard.
January 7, 201115 yr I don't know. I don't think you can fault him for taking a teaching job at Harvard. I agree. Plenty of others would have done this if ever given the opportunity to be in the Ivy League or other prestigious colleges/universities.

January 7, 201115 yr How in the world did you come to that conclusion? He wants to be a career politician because he stopped being a politician to work outside of the public spotlight. The logic is flawless.

January 8, 201115 yr Author He wants to be a career politician because he stopped being a politician to work outside of the public spotlight. The logic is flawless. No he bailed on Kentucky that he told us he loved so much in the election as soon as his political career seemed dead. He worked only something like 5 years after college before going in to politics. I never trusted Grayson, he always seemed like a snake in the grass. His desperation in his campaign towards the end showed that, and now his bailing on the people who elected him so he can be replaced by a democrat is even more proof of that.

If he was only a career politician, he would have stayed in his post. Add to that, he's going to head up the Harvard Political Institute. I'm not sure why you dislike him so much. I really don't know too much about him, myself. I suppose you could equate this to the similar action of former Alaskan Governor Palin, but at least he's taking a job somehwere.

I'm not fan of Palin much either, but my thing on Grayson is mostly how disgraceful his senate campaign was. I'm not a huge Paul fan either but I was rooting hard for Paul after I saw how negative and desperate Grayson's campaign sunk.

Big jump to conclude his political career seemed dead just because he lost the Senate primary. A whole lot of politicians lose a race but go on to get elected down the road and stay elected for a long time. I know Grayson fairly well. He's a very, very fine person. And as someone that has to deal with the Secretary of State's office on a very regular basis, he did an outstanding job as the Secretary of State. I wish him happiness and the best of luck at Harvard. Sounds like a great opportunity for him at his Alma Mater.

I don't know a lot about the Ivy leaue schools. I just thought they leaned a lot more to the liberal side than conservative side... :idunno:

January 21, 201115 yr I think that's an overblown myth to be honest. Not at NKU it isn't...(I know, I know, not an Ivy league school, but the same general principle.)

January 21, 201115 yr And you know this to be true because????? Because I went there and took quite a few poly-sci classes and all had liberal professors that couldn't wait to bash the right??
