Somebody told me Franklin Co. started the game out with a 20-0 lead. Does anyone have details??

This may be a shocker to some but for those who have seen Frankfort this is no surprise. The Frankfort squad is 2-0 vs. Franklin in their district rivalry.

The Flyers had a 20 point lead, and then the Panthers hit the reset button........

This was one of the craziest I have witnessed. Franklin County did jump ahead 20-0 with 6 three pointers and I don't think any even hit the rim. But, by halftime, the game was tied at 31. I have seen teams win games from 22 down (it was 27-5 when Frankfort hit a 3 in the final seconds of the first quarter), but I am not sure I have seen a team down 22 late first quarter tie the game by half.

 

Frankfort is 10-5 after winning 10 games all of last season.

Franklin County bigest lead was 22 points. They hit 6 of 7 three's first quarter. They might have only missed one shot. Had no turnovers and was out rebounding the Panthers. The out played, out defended, and out hustled the Panthers for the first quarter.

 

Then what many in the gym thought was the Panthers would fold and give up. That didn't happen. They started forcing turnovers and knocking down shots. The Out rebounded, out played, out hustled the Flyers for the next 3 quarters. They actually took the lead before half. That is what is amazing. The Flyers looked to be in a daze going in at half time.

 

the 3rd quarter both teams just kind of played even. The in the 4th FHS beat FCHS of the dribble and shot lay ups. Was a crazy type of game. Fun game to watch becuase of how the first half went down.

Did Hamilton play for Franklin County? I did not see his name in the stats.

I would agree with JVDFC...Frankfort has improved and is better than people think. Franklin County is not where they were the last few years. However, FCHS has some talent and athleticism, and they certainly have the capability, if they stay healthy and are motivated, to finish out the season strong and win the district tournament.

The district this year is WIDE OPEN. There is still a chance all 4 teams could finish 3-3 against each other during the regular season. But, no matter the seeding come district tournament time, I think it is realistic to think any of the 4 can come out on top.

Stes up a great district tourney. Looking forward to see how it all plays out.

My post was not a knock on Frankfort, but losing twice to them and once in the fashion of the last one is a sign that FC is down quite a bit, may not be a question of talent, but losing players that were leaders may have had a big effect.
