North Oldham 60 Covington Holy Cross 54

Final from the Jeffersontown Invitational

David Henley continues to beat the Indians.

I didn's see Henley out there on the floor for North Oldham. At least, I didn't see him in a jersey and long shorts. We had 23 more shot attempts than the Mustangs. Again, you have to be able to score to have any press be effective and 36% from the floor isn't going to cut it.

Did the big boy for N Oldham play? He's a load.

Yeah, he played, I'll try to post the box score. Their guard, #5 Levitch killed us, he had 28.

I remember them having a guard that could shoot well.

Another slow start for the Indians...2-13 from the field and 0-8 from 3 in the 1st Qtr. Forced 22 turnovers and again, took 23 more shots from the floor and still lose.

Box score from the 6:30 game at the Gaslight Holiday Classic (starters listed first):

HC (3-4) - 6 21 15 12 - 54

NO (6-4) - 15 12 20 13 - 60

HC - Broering 2-9 0-0 4, Burger 6-16 1-2 14, Avery 2-6 2-2 6, Arlinghaus 5-10 1-2 14, McClendon 4-9 1-4 9, Allen 0-2 0-0 0, Thompson 1-1 0-0 2, Beal 0-1 0-0 0, Walker 0-0 0-0 0, Knochelman 0-2 0-0 0, Fuller 1-3 2-3 5, Totals 21-59 7-13 54

NO - Yates 2-4 0-0 4, Levitch 8-13 9-11 28, Shams 3-4 0-1 6, Menke 1-2 0-0 3, Rowan 3-5 3-6 9, Clark 4-4 0-0 8, Kozak 1-3 0-0 2, Steinfield 0-1 0-0 0, Totals 22-36 12-18 60.

Other stats from the game...Burger and Arlinghaus had 8 rebounds each and Avery had 5 assists. This may have been the first time we outrebounded someone in this young season albeit by one rebound. Rowan for NO had 10 rebounds and 2 blocks.

And we were even with Collins.

You're undoubtedly thinking of Alex Foley, who was a senior last year. Levitch is a freshman who came off the bench last year as an 8th grader (although, if you saw him last year, you'd have quickly recognized the kid could shoot the first time he fired one off. As an 8th grader - and a sub - he was still the 3rd-leading scorer for North at about 8 ppg last year.)

I believe Levitch is a sophomore.

^He's listed as a soph on KHSAA.org.

KHSAA's website may be listing him as a sophomore (which he is), but when you go to the scores site and click the link for the team's roster, he is listed as a freshman. It looks like they are listing players a year younger than they actually are. I know because I recently updated Holy Cross' Boys' Roster and Jalen Avery was listed as an 8th grader after I updated it.

No. I saw them scrimmage CCH in the Sorrell Memorial and they had a kid who had a nice stroke. Must have been Levitch.

You referenced "last year" in your previous post...in the Sorrell Memorial last year, I doubt Levitch played much at that game as he didn't get much time early last season (although I wasn't there at that game, and he may have). And Foley averaged 20+ ppg last year for them...which is why I suspect you are thinking of Foley... If you did see Levitch last year, you would have seen a nice-looking stroke...

It's still early and I haven't had my morning caffeine but are you sure I referenced "last year?"
