December 16, 201015 yr But they did trade him in the deal to get Halladay, so what you had previously said was pointless.Whatever you say. They didn't have to trade Lee to get Halladay ... they chose to trade Lee, and Amaro even admitted as much.
December 16, 201015 yr Probably to get the best pitcher in baseball... Nope. They didn't think they could afford to re sigsn him. They admitted it.
December 16, 201015 yr Nope. They didn't think they could afford to re sigsn him. They admitted it. Because Lee stated he wouldn't give any team a discount. Clearly something he changed his mind on considering he left money and years on the table to return. Had it been that way from the beginning the trade may have never happened. Plus they knew they could resign Halladay because he waived his NTC to go there.

Ok and they panick traded for Oswalt and it didn't get them what they wanted. We'll just end this with me thinking their offense isn't good enough because it wasn't last year and it got worse and you thinking that their old guys are good enough even though they weren't last year and they lost last years most productive hitter. If they make a deal in July or August to get better offensively I take it all back. I was never saying this wasn't a good move. I'm just saying they filled a spot that wasn't a need.
December 16, 201015 yr ^^^ You can never have too much pitching. True but you can owe too much to guys in their 30's.
December 16, 201015 yr How many Reds fans were saying signing anywhere but New York.... dang it! :irked:
